Very educational. We shared the cooking like a team. I felt like a real sous-chef. Marie was so knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher.

First time and I’d do it again. We had a group of 10 people and we were 3. We all got along so well. Emma our Chef was so thoughtful and knowledgeable as she described the why and how of each ingredient we collected from the Boqueria market. Her instructions at the cooking studio were easy to follow and the location was perfect and very pleasing to the eye. Best experience and we had so much fun with everyone… we went from strangers to friends !

We learned the Catalan way of preparing bread with tomato and Paella. Catalan paella was different from other paella’s I’ve had but absolutely delicious. We toured a local market and Emma gave us great information on the local fresh fruits, seafood, spices, oils etc. We all joined in on preparing the paella ingredients and then cooking the paella. A few others prepared Sangria. Everything was fun, informative and YUMMY! Emma was a wonderful teacher.

Very fun experience in a friendly environment. The market tour was brief and just was enough to make you want to go back and explore the market for a longer visit. The cooking was a great experience with everyone encouraged to participate. A little friendly competition in two teams to see who would produce a better dish and the wine and sangria were free flowing to make an enjoyable evening

We had such a fantastic time at this cooking class and market tour! We had a lovely group, and our chef facilitated the tour and cooking so well by sharing her knowledge and love for her culture and home! If you are considering this tour at all, definitely book it!

We walked through the market but the ‘chef’ had clearly prearranged food purchases prior to arrival (guessing he does this quite regularly and knows exactly what he wants). Experience was fun and enjoyable, predominately due to guests interaction. Cooking location was quite a distance from the market - walking, but exceptionally clean and well lit. Bathroom above expectations. Seafood paella - mediocre at best. Hence 3 Stars.

I highly recommend this experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the best part is that you get to be your own chef. It was a fantastic experience with a warm and friendly atmosphere – truly something special!

So fun and informative!! The Chef was amazing, taught the class so much. Not only in class but in the market buying ingredients.

The overall experience was fun. Our guide/chef was friendly. She probably could have used some logistical support so she could focus on engaging with the group and teaching the recipe and technique. We expected a cooking class versus a Paella experience. We would have liked to be able to walk away feeling we could make a paella. The meeting point was also very far from the cooking class. Also, we recommend having the ingredients pre-purchased to reduce waiting time. One person in our group didn’t get a taste of all the seafood. The beverage quality was low given the price. Great for someone looking for a fun, social, intro to local food experience. But for someone looking for a cooking class to learn how to make a paella, I would recommend asking before booking.
