Maria was excellent!! The tour was incredible. Beautiful basilica. Maria did an excellent job of allowing people to look around while informing of the history of Gaudi and the construction.

Absolutely Brilliant Experience, Amazing Guided Tour ran by William, he was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions clearly and with good knowledge. He was relatable to all nationalities within the small group and kept everyone in good attention, at no point where we, or any of the group, uncomfortable, unable to hear or distracted. Very much recommended.

Overall takeaway: Get a normal, cheap entrance ticket for like €25. Look around, but go through the museum to read about all the aspects of nature that Gaudi incorporated into his design. You learn nothing new in the tour that’s not included in the museum, which is well done. The text is very succinct and easily digestible. It’s not a slog to get through, and gives you a good understanding of the design. The guide seemed very inexperienced, and it really detracted from the experience. We only booked this because it was the only way to get same-day tickets to go inside, as we hadn’t properly planned ahead, but the price was quite high for what we got. First, like everywhere in Barcelona, you need headphones to listen to your tour guide. These seem to be provided by the Sagrada Familia, and weren’t in great shape - this isn’t the guide’s fault. But she never checked that everyone’s was working. She just started talking (without her microphone on) for quite awhile. When we pointed this out, she turned it on and just kept talking without checking if everyone could hear (some couldn’t) or if quality was okay (it was terribly static-y). When some people finally stopped her to say it was too static-y, she was essentially like *shrug* “it’s not really my fault or problem”. I had to be quite rude and point out that we paid €70 per person, and that was not good enough. She went and got a new microphone, and it was much better. She kept walking around the building without any verbal indication of where she was going or any distinguishing feature to follow. So we were all constantly trying to figure out where she had gone and what we were hearing her describe. She didn’t wait for people to follow her before continuing with her transcript, which made it quite useless. Her English wasn’t amazing, which isn’t uncommon, but made it heard to really understand. It felt like she was simply reading a script with no added information that you can’t glean from the museum.
