Join us in Oberaudorf to experience life in the beautiful Bavarian alps and learn how to make some staple dishes of the region. This is a cultural cooking class, so as we cook together, expect to hear some stories, cultural insights, and traditions of Bavaria.
Enjoy some of our favorite Bavarian beers and soft drinks during the cooking course as we prepare proper schnitzel, Bavarian style potato salad, and a typical radish salad together. Be prepared to get involved as we will put the schnitzel hammer right into your hands! For dessert, we will make kaiserschmarrn- a fluffy, torn alpine style pancake- and enjoy a schnapps to digest it all.
After cooking and enjoying our meal together, we say Servus and get you back to the station in time for your train. Before you go, you will get your own Adventure Bavaria recipe book to take back with you so you can recreate the magic of the Bavarian kitchen at home for family and friends.

We welcome our guests into the newly renovated Adventure Bavaria Werkstatt Kitchen with modern amenities and old world vibes. After enjoying a cappuccino and some Bavarian appetizers, we will roll up our sleeves, put our aprons on, and start preparing our classic Bavarian sides, including potato salad, and radish salad. Once these are done, we put our custom Adventure Bavaria schnitzel hammers to use to start preparing the main dish, Wiener Schnitzel! We put the hammer in your hands to pound each cutlet to a perfect thinness. Then we will bread and fry each piece one at a time until they are crispy, puffed, and golden. While the schnitzel fries, we will take a few minutes to prepare the batter for our dessert, kaiserschmarrn. When the last schnitzel is done, we will set the batter aside to rest, and sit down to enjoy our meal together while it is fresh. Don't get too cozy, though! We need to get back into the kitchen to finish our dessert. After flipping and ripping our kaiserschmarrn, we sit down again to finish the class with a sweet bite and maybe a schnapps. Before it is all over, we will also hand over our recipes to you to take and enjoy at home.

We had a fantastic time with Anna and Tyler learning to cook some authentic Bavarian dishes including wiener schnitzel, potato salad, radish salad, preiselbeer dressing and kaiserschmarrn. It is so lovely to see Anna honouring her Oma by sharing some wonderful recipes. Absolutely delicious. Anna is so sweet and she and Tyler are excellent hosts. Their town, Oberaudorf, is beautiful and a pretty one hour train ride from Munich. Highly recommended!!

Our experience was lovely from start to finish! Anna communicated how to get train and picked us up with smiles 😊 They accommodated vegetarian with ease! We had three generations of family and Anna, Tyler and Cole kept us all entertained with cooking and we learned so much from Anna who is wonderful! 🥰 We ended our day with a short hike recommended and time in the village! We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to learn more about Bavarian culture and cooking! This was the highlight of our adolescent boys trip if this says anything 😉

Preparing the ingredients for the potato and radish salad and cooking the schnitzel. Anna is enjoyable to talk with as she is both friendly and informative

Anna is warm, generous, and bright. She passed on her Grandma’s cooking wisdom in an accessible way. We simultaneously felt like honored guests and cherished friends. We’ve made schnitzel several times before but never like this-wow!! I can’t imagine a better souvenir than to bring this cooking knowledge home to share and enjoy for years to come!

Anna is bright and gracious. She was full of knowledge and a wonderful hostess. We have made schnitzel many times before but never like this-wow! Cooking these meals at home as she taught us is the best souvenir we could imagine.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Munich. Anna was wonderful!! We cooked schnitzel, radish salad, German potato slad nd dessert. Learned a lot that we will use back home. Included were wonderful appetizers and the food was paired with a variety of beers. Once again, we were able to learn so much about the culture through the food.

We had a wonderful time taking the schnitzel class with Anna and Tyler. It was the absolute highlight of our trip. We had the honor of being the first class in their newly renovated kitchen. The kitchen is perfect set up for the class. We all enjoyed the process of making the meal, we learned some new (to us) techniques that we will taking home with us, and the food itself turned out wonderfully. Our only regret was that we did not play to spend the night in one of their guest houses. Everyone agreed that the cooking class was the top moment of the trip. Anna and Tyler are certainly invited to make some Cajun food with us if they make down to south Louisiana.
