  We had our 80 year old mother with us and the staff was kind and accommodating. They provided her with a folding chair to sit on for short breaks along the tour route. We felt like the audio tour was a bit rushed but it was awesome!

• Have your whole group ready at the 9am ticket pickup! Great tour.

  Ticket pickup at 9am was great, however, we needed to be at the castle parking lot at 0920 to catch a bus to the top for a 1020 tour. It’s a 10min drive so no big deal, but my family was still at the hotel because we thought we would get our tour time at pickup (which is what the website says). We didn’t expect it to be immediate. We couldn’t make the bus and had to walk up the mountain to the top (30min walk for young/fit). We got there just as our tour (1020) started. Overall, neuschwanstein is gorgeous, the tour is great, the views are breathtaking. Well worth the cost. Just know you should have your whole party there or ready to go at 0900.

  This is a great option to purchase a tour ticket when the actual castle site is sold out. Sadly, as with a lot of tourist attractions the tickets are bought up by tours, buses etc and this is your only option. (It was ours). We went the day before to see where the tickets pick up place is. Not hard to find but they will NOT let you pick up early as I think they pick them up from the castle and bring them to the hotel parking lot where you pick them up. The hotel has an agreement with them to sell but they (the hotel) is unfriendly if you go inside (even if you were told to! ) The most important thing is how early the tours are that they purchase, ours was at 10:20. Meaning pick up at 9 - drive to the castle (short drive) find parking, then get up the hill. The tour buses have already let their people off - bad news for you because you will NOT make it up the mountain in time for your tour if you stand in line for the carriage! Start walking right away. There were 60 people in line at 920 after we got parked. The carriage packs in ten or so people. Half an hour up then half hour down, so it hits you that the math won’t work. Count the people in line and do the math. I did not find the hill very tough being ‘almost 60’ but I don’t have knee/hip/back problems. Normal person give yourself 45 minutes to get up the hill! They are making money off their ability to secure tickets so I don’t hold the price against them, would just like to see a better place to hand out tickets in 0 degree weather and later tour start times. Overall would do it again. Some of the negative reviews seem to be from people who did not prepare or know what they were in for as the pre adventure before the castle.

  Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful time and felt very well cared for by the organizers. This company pre orders tickets from the castle for you and provides you with the tickets and transportation to base of the castle day of. Unfortunately, the castle told them the morning of the tour that many guides were sick and gave the organizers less tickets than they ordered. Nevertheless, our organizers scrambled and worked HARD to ensure that we were able to go to the castle anyway. I know they were so stressed and much of this issue was out of their control, but they made it happen anyway! I am not sure how they did it, but we are so grateful for our organizers, specifically Mr. Auggie. Would highly recommend!! PS - make sure your phone number is correct when booking (with the correct country code!!), and make sure you reply to the email/text confirmation they send the night before!

  We visited Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle on a joint ticket, both with a guided English speaking tour. Our Neuschwanstein Castle tour guide was Ort who was very friendly and welcoming. I found him captivating to listen to as he told the history of the castle and King Ludwig. His English is excellent and was happy to answer any questions. The castle was beautiful and the artwork inside was wonderful. I have visited many castles and stately homes in the UK but they all feel much of a muchness compared to here. When visiting the castle you do need to allow a good hour from when your tour time is to get up to the castle as you have to park in the town and then either walk up a long incline or for €8 you can take the horse drawn vehicle up (it is €4 to come down). Don’t worry though; the cart is electric so as not to make the horses work too hard. They also swap out the horses to give them a rest. The views of the Alps from the castle are amazing too.
