Great time, we had a small group so had a quiet and indefinite time with the animals along with some extra stops at the blue mountains. We all had the lunch added which I definitely recommend doing you will get quite hungry after a long day!

Despite the cold, rainy weather (totally out of anyone’s control), our guide did a great job making the most of the day. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and even offered to take photos for us. The Blue Mountains were stunning, though the multiple lookout stops felt a bit repetitive with similar views. One highlight was the visit to a local farm where we saw kangaroos, a koala bear, wallabies, and even got to meet some adorable joeys(baby kangaroos)! We wished we had more time there, especially to interact with the animals. We opted out of the included lunch and we’re glad we did. Others said it wasn’t worth the $60 AUD. Instead, we found a cozy café nearby with fresh sandwiches, soups, salads, and even wine -plus a cute shop to browse. Overall, not a bad trip, just a few tweaks away from being amazing! 🐨🦘🌧️⛰️

The weather was not on our side. It hindered the entire day’s activity. Despite the challenging circumstances, our tour guide and driver made lemonade out of lemon. He brought the group to a different site and provided some history. He is very knowledgeable. The farm with Australian animals was the highlight. Our farm guide was very kind and possessed a wealth of knowledge.

I was looking for a naturalist-guided tour of the Blue Mountains, but this is more of a day spent in a van with 14 other people. The stops are all scenic overlooks, lunch, or a “farm” where you can have your photo taken with a koala who just wants to be left alone. Our guide Karyn narrated the whole trip and we learned a lot about the history of the area (and her right-leaning political views). Some of the things she told us were so unbelievable I had to look them up. For example: “New South Wales averages 6 inches of rainfall per year” (it’s actually 60cm/24 inches to 120cm/47 inches) or about the dozens of spider webs on a rock wall “those are all highly venomous funnel spider webs” but when I shared photos of them with an Australian spider expert, they said that they were just house spider webs. Better safe than sorry, but I wish I had booked a tour with an actual naturalist.

Although we came upon bad weather (fog), and couldn’t see the Blue Mountain landscapes and The Three Sisters, but later able to see them, John, our driver/guide, was the best!!! He was an excellent improviser and kept everyone engaged. Example, when the fog was covering the scenery, he took us to a couple sites that were not on the itinerary, but personally knew about. Lunch was very good! Had Aussie meat pie and apple crisp with ice cream. After lunch, sun was coming out, and he made a decision to go back to The Three Sisters; good decision! We were able to see them and take pictures.
