Bremer Canyon Killer whale Expeditions

Encounter an astonishing aggregation of marine wildlife on an unforgettable full-day expedition. From December to April, we visit one of the least explored places on Earth—the only place in Australia where killer whales are reliably seen. You may also encounter long-finned pilot whales, sperm whales, blue whales, or rare beaked whales. Pods of bottlenose, striped, and common dolphins often delight with acrobatic displays. Sharks such as great whites, whalers, and the striking oceanic blue may be spotted—this species is never seen from shore. You may witness enormous sunfish surfacing and the remains of giant squid, evidence of orca predation, scavenged by an array of seabirds including albatross, shearwaters, and petrels. Each expedition includes a qualified Marine Biologist and onboard Photographer (images emailed post-tour). Morning tea, catered lunch, and afternoon tea are included. Please let us know of any dietary requirements.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! The loveliest and most professional crew that made sure we had everything we needed. The ship and the food were also great. I will go again next time I'm in Australia.

Incredible experience to see Marine animals in their natural habitat. Boat facilities and staff were excellent. They went out of their way to ensure we got the experience we booked for staying out on the water well past the return time. Thank you

A fantastic experience. The staff are very helpful friendly and informative. The skipper and crew made a big effort to ensure the best wildlife encounters. We saw a blue whale calf ( a very rare sighting), pilot whales and orcas!

Fabulous experience! Saw lots of orcas! The crew is very good at locating and spotting them. Great and informative commentary from the marine biologist! Food was wonderful and all the staff are very attentive and caring! Three photographers take all the trouble out of trying for your own photos. You receive a link by email to their photos! Thank you for a great day 🙏. Margaret and Ian

The most incredible day on the water seeing many Orcas kill and eat a Blue Whale from a few metres. Also saw hundreds of Pilot Whales, Sperm Whsles and incredible seabirds including four species of Albatrosses. Confronting but very special day. Crew couldn’t have been better and always put the comfort of their passengers as number one priority. Couldn’t recommend them stronger.

Had the most amazing day out. Got to see orcas so close I felt like I could touch them, a baby orca, orcas breaching, pilot whales, sperm whales and a pygmy blue whale. Watching the orcas in action is something I will never forget. The crew are so amazing. I was unwell despite taking precautions and they looked after me so well. It was totally worth it for the best day ever.

Amazing trip!!! We saw soooo many orcas, along with a blue whale, pilot whales, dolphins, sea lions and birds- but the orcas stole the show. We watched them for hours as they came right up along side the boat- truly amazing trip! We also loved speaking to the crew/marine biologists & learning about the wildlife! Thank you Naturaliste charters!!

  • Great trip but a bit rough as it’s the end of the season.

Great trip but a bit rough as it’s the end of the season. The staff were terrific and even though we only saw 4 pods was excellent. Unfortunately the seas state was class 4 (up to ~2 m swells), the trip was worth it. If you’re going, probably a little earlier in the season would be better.

An absolutely memorable experience. Fabulous professional skipper & crew plus knowledgeable, friendly & helpful staff. Access to food & refreshments was plentiful; staff were always on hand to assist those of us who were yet to find our sea legs. Particularly helpful was the advice about preventing/ameliorating sea sickness - it worked well for me but there were a few other passengers who obviously didn't take that advice& were suffering & unable to get full benefits of the tour. An extra benefit for me was knowing that the price of my ticket was enabling citizen science to take place. We loved the whole day sea birds, sunfish, a massive pod of striped dolphins & , of course, the orcas. Thank you
