Very nice day! A little blurry at the beginning of the experience from Geneve because there were several “Keytours” buses in the parking lot and we only identified ours when it was already reversing... result waiting for another bus 10 minutes later but without guide, so no comment for 1h10 until Chamonix. Arriving on the spot, cuckoo, the guide who had to be warned and wait for us had already gone up. In short, everything finally worked out and we took full advantage of the day when we could join the guide and receive our ticket! We still thought the guides gave us information about Chamonix or the activities done but nothing, this aspect was a bit unfortunate, in the end they showed us the way, things to see and time information to remember. On activities: really exceptional! Breathtaking views! Security and layout at the top! And of course you can do them without going through an organizing agency (except to make it easier to get around when you’re not driving), I don’t think it changes much! The price would be reduced and everything is indicated on site 😊

Disappointing. No commentary just instructions. Gondola unavailable and alternative inaccessible to most. Too long in village.

The day trip from Geneva was perfectly organized. Our guide shared a lot of interesting information about the area we drove through, about nature and sights. He also gave many valuable tips on optimal behavior to avoid the rush of other tourists as much as possible or to tolerate the unusual altitude of over 3000 m well. It was a journey full of highlights. Added to this for me was the use of the shuttle from the hotel to the meeting point, which worked excellently. Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are strongly recommended, at least in winter.

Due to heavy snow the two main activities of the trip were cancelled. There resulted in a lot of meeting up and standing around attempting to plan the day. Given the attractions were closed for the day there should have been a clear recommendation to return to Geneva earlier at 2pm.

If you are not taking the train be sure to look at the map because the bus picks you up in a different place than it drops you off. While expensive - lunch at the fancy restaurant at the top of the mountain is well worth it. The scenery is stunning and the food delicious. It’s cold! Be sure to bring layers. While the tour was great, I’m not a fan of Viator. Their customer service is very lacking.

This was a nice trip to Chamonix. Chris our guide was great and informed us of the weather conditions and what to expect if it changes. He gave the group choices. Sadly the weather was against us so no trip up the mountain. Chamonix is very pretty and despite not being able to go to Mont Blanc, it’s nice day out. I’ll just need to go back!

On Thursday 1st January 2026, my boyfriend and I went on a trip from Geneva to Chamonix. We booked this trip as it is was our anniversary on that day and thought it would be a lovely way to celebrate it. We had a lovely day on the cable cars, mountains and the train and thourgherly enjoyed our experience. We had a door guide call Chris who was very nice and knowledgeable. We got on the train for the way back from the Ice Caves which was delayed but we got a seat and enjoyed the ride back. We were the last to get off the train as it was so busy as it was the last train of the day. We were told to meet next to a coffee stand which was a tuktuk which we went to immediately after getting off the train. We saw our tour guide Chris by the coffee stand and he acknowledged us. Suddenly Chris walked off and we didn’t see where he went. We continued to wait there. We were not given a time of departure. We then saw two ‘Swiss Tours Key Tours’ marked coaches leave. One of which was a double decker we arrived on. The coach left without us and there was no one around us we recognised. We spoke to the women in the coffee tuk tuk who suggested we go to the bus station where we were originally dropped off as the coaches return there. We got there as quick as we could by speed walking and running. We waited at the bus stop when the single decker coach went past us and did not stop. We then waited for a while in case the double decker coach arrived before ringing the trip advisor help line and spoke to a women who wasn’t particularly helpful but gave us another contact number eventually. We rung the number and spoke to a women who advised to carry on waiting at the bus stop as two coaches were arriving at 1830-ish. We then had to wait over 1 hour at the bus stop. We did not have any euros with us so just had to stand there waiting as we had no alternative. Eventually two Swiss Tours coaches arrived and spoke to Norman, one of the drivers and after a while he let us on his coach back to Geneva. We finally departed from Chamonix at 1845 - an hour and a half after we were told we should have left. We are really disappointed that we were evidently forgotten about. We followed all instructions given. Clearly no ‘head count’ takes place at the end of this tour which is odd as the two other Key Tour trips we have done this week did ensure everyone had returned before departing. We were not provided with any contact details for the coach or Chris so we were helpless in our situation. We had no money as previously stated as we only had Swiss Franc as we had no intentions of purchasing anything in France and we do not have a bank card compatible for foreign transactions as this is not something we have ever required. We had dinner reservations in Geneva to celebrate our anniversary which we missed due to being stuck in Chamonix due to no fault of our own. This was our last full day of our holiday and we are very disappointed that we have now ended our trip on such a bad note. The trip itself was stunning and would recommend as I would like to think no one else would be forgotten in the future!
