Chicago Public Library - Hall Branch
It was named for the city’s first African American Mayor, who served from 1983-87 and opened in 1991. Chicago’s known for having some of the finest architecture in the world.
Financial District
centered on LaSalle Street in the Loop, is the fulcrum of the heartland’s economic engines. Looming skyscrapers form a canyon-like effect down LaSalle, which ends abruptly with the Art Deco masterpiece of the Board of Trade on Jackson. Floridly-dressed commodity traders at the Board of Trade, regulators at the Chicago Fed, and bankers of all pinstripes know this power corridor very well.

Eliot was an awesome tour guide! Provided fun facts about the city and the food we were experiencing and took us into some fun (and beautiful) buildings that weren’t on my list but added greatly to the experience!

I had a great time on this Chicago food walking tour, even though we had rain for part of it. Our guide, Lance, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience fun with interesting facts about the food, the neighborhood’s history, and the surrounding architecture. The pace was relaxed with not too much walking involved, which made it easy to enjoy each stop. I also really appreciated that Lance responded to a follow-up question by text the next day -great customer service. I’d definitely recommend doing this tour early in your stay so you can come back later to revisit the area and your favorite food spots.

Ended up being the only family on it, so it was basically a private tour! Had a great time with our guide Mike, who had a lot of knowledge of and love for Chicago.

Very personable tour guide. We did not feel rushed. Lance also gave us extra history of the Loop and we walked inside some historic buildings which was great since it was so frigid outside and kept us from getting too cold between stops.

There’s a lot of food. Our tour took 3.5 hours, but we were stuffed by the end! But no beverages are included (at the basic rate) so consider bringing your own with you.
