The experience was through Guate Tours. Our guide Nayeli gave us much needed information about the area and the customs within the area of Chichicastenago. The streets are crowded with merchants selling food to clothing. We strolled through as we headed to the church and cemetery. We say many people of Mayan culture doing cleansing rituals. It’s a bit hard to shop there when on a timed schedule. We opt for lunch instead of possible free time. The journey is long and winding with the mountain pass. Our guide was very nice and patient as we, at times, lagged behind to see things. Our driver Carlos was very kind. The 4 of us had a great lunch and a wonderful conversation. They were very happy to answer all our questions. Do this experience if you have time. It’s is a long day of being in a car. Seems like the best time to go is during the holidays to see it in full swing.
