• Eye-opening tour of a breathtakingly beautiful city

  My family and extended family had a reunion in China, coming from Australia, UK and Malaysia. It was our first time in China. In Hangzhou, we booked a tour with John Wu. Our driver Ma was very friendly and helpful. Our guide Min Min was very knowledgeable and passionate about China and Hangzhou. We wernt to the West Lake, Hu Xu Yuan's residence, a Longjin tea plantation, strolled around some nice architecture and gardens. While we could have covered these on our own through maps andDidi, we would never have been able to gain as much a perspective on the city, country and culture as we did with our tour guide Min Min. Min Min showed genuine enthusiasm for her home city, and showed us the highlights during our day tour; she knows her history and gave helpful information along the way - as well as info about where pop stars (eg. Ed Sheeran, Jay Chou) have recorded their music videos on the West Lake. She took us for excellent local meals and tea. Min Min was friendly, warm, sensitive to our needs (our group included an 81 year old granddad) and was happy to answer any questions we had. We got an idea of what a local Chinese from Hangzhou really loves about their city - and it's infectious. We need to visit again! - our few days was too short. After the tour, Min Min was still happy to help with advice and input on our subsequent plans. John Wu's also helped us with tickets for the West Lake Impression Show, which is a must-see. They were very accommodating when 2 of our group decided late in the day to skip the show. In my opinion, the West Lake show was one of the highlights of my trip to China. I'll be booking with John Wu the next time I visit China (and asking for Min Min as guide when in Hangzhou).

  We had a great experience in Hangzhou on a private day tour through John’s company. Our guide Lisa was very warm, friendly, fun and knowledgeable! We were a small group with an infant so had to be quite flexible with the itinerary and Lisa was great at showing us the beauty of Hangzhou at a relaxed pace that suited us. Had a great time and would recommend this tour and Lisa in particular to anyone looking for a private tour of hangzhou in English.

  We were looking for an interesting tour in Hangzhou and were fortunate to book it with this company. Our tour guide, Min Min, was very professional. She's a person with amazing energy, which simply made our tour more enjoyable. She explains everything with passion and will take you to the most beautiful places in and around Hangzhou, providing very interesting explanations. I highly recommend booking this tour with Min Min!"
