Food Pairings Included - Ceviche: Fresh, citrus-cured seafood with local flavors. - Grandma’s Croquette: A creamy, homemade-style croquette with a crispy exterior. - Cartagena-Style Posta: Slow-cooked beef in a traditional sweet-and-savory sauce. - Babà: A soft sponge cake soaked in rum, inspired by Italian pastry. - Chocolate: Colombian chocolate made with local cacao. 5.00This experience was everything I could have hoped for. Our guides for this journey were Luz and Dylan, who were warm and genuinely excited to share with us their deep knowledge and passion of the Colombia and the Caribbean Cartagena region. We tried five different rums, and one "aguardiente" which has the same base ingredients but is a very different spin on the spirit. These were paired with five devine food dishes, and some chocolates at the end. Not only were they able to talk to us about the distinct differences in each rum, wether the region of production, aging practices, or fun details about the distiller, but they related each rum with each food pairing exceptionally from a gastronomic standpoint. Enhancing key flavor notes of each rum and dish at the same time. My wife has a couple significant food allergies, which the team were more than happy to accommodate to ensure her health. If you get the chance to do any of the experiences at Lunático make the time to do so, you will not be disappointed!!
