Climb inside Mud Volcano, in an amazing activity near to Cartagena in one of the world's smallest volcanos and enjoy a relaxing soak in the warm mud inside. Some locals say the mineral infused mud has healing properties and skin benefits which make you look and feel younger. After mud immerse with the help of a kind local who will rinse off the mud, it's optional but we recommend it because the mud remains can be uncomfortable. Get a delicious local snack than you can choose: arepa de huevo, empanada or carimañola and a soda. For this experience you'll be accompanied by a bilingual tour guide, that give you a interesting speech about volcano making your experience unforgettable throughout the journey. Massages, photos or mud-cleanse have an additional price around $2 USD. All native or local people make a living from MUD VOLCANO. Each traveler is allowed a maximum of (1) suitcase or carry-on bag. Do NOT allowed oversized or excessive luggage.
Valuables Security: Upon arrival at the volcano, please keep your valuables secure. We make the vehicle we travel in available as a safe space where all guests can leave their belongings. The vehicle will serve as your secure location.
Tipping and Local Community: The native community of this village relies solely on the commercial activity of the volcano. It is common for local residents to offer assistance with items you carry and subsequently ask for a tip. Tipping should be voluntary and at your discretion. To simplify the process and avoid solicitations, we highly recommend ascending the volcano without any personal items—just go in the clothes you intend to enter the mud with.
Massage and Exfoliation: Once inside the volcano, there are local individuals who offer massages. Please make it very clear if you do or do not want this massage and exfoliation service.
Cleaning Service: When exiting the volcano, a group of local women will offer to clean the mud off your body in a natural lake. If you do not wish to use this service, you are also welcome to clean yourself on your own.
Extra Costs: Please note that any assistance you receive, regardless of whether it is offered by the guide or not, will incur an extra cost.

5.00It was interesting to say the least. The mud felt cool on the skin and the floating thing was neat. I wouldn't expect much of a "massage". I appreciate our tour guide Milton to gives an overview of what to expect. I wouldn't do it again but I glad to try something new.

5.00Jesus & Franklin did an excellent job. I took the afternoon visit where there was no wait and we stayed in the mud pool to the maximum possible time with no pressure. The pool rub was great and the ladies washing us in the pond were very helpful. It’s an experience not to be forgotten.
My trip was good. Going to the mud volcano you get to see the countryside. No technology and hang out

5.00Milton was really cool - fun to hang out with, I do kinda wish he stuck with us a little more. You get there and kinda get passed off to other people, which is hard if you don’t speak great Spanish. He explained the tipping situation well, and we were able to just compile one tip for everyone. The volcano itself was amazing and the town was so beautiful!
