What To Expect

Comuna 13 Tour (Pazifistas)

The guides meets guests at the main entrance to the POBLADO metro station by the main ticket booth. Next, the guide takes guests on the metro to the cable cars for a ride up providing amazing panoramic views of Medellin. Afterwards, a short bus ride takes guests to the Comuna 13 neighborhood to explore all the street art while learning all about the troubled past and miraculous transformation of this colorful and vibrant community.

We had a truly amazing experience. Camilo, our tour guide was really knowledgeable and flexible. He told us about the violent history of Comuna 13. Walking up the mountain, we saw the miraculous turn around, it has transformed from violence to a safe vibrant community. We saw a performance by local street performers, local artists and an area used to teach kids english. It turns out Camilo is a tour guide during the week and a community leader for the kids over the weekends. You could tell his passion for the community trhough out the tour. We really appreciate his flexibility, it made it possible for my 84 year old father to also enjoy the tour.

The tour was a good way to get history of dark times in Medellin and to see the art and progress seen today. The tour goes thru an burgeoning tourist draw that people on their own might be nervous to try due to twisting pathways. It's an interesting slice of Medellin life and nowhere else will you see escalators taking people up and down the hill.

Our guide Christian was very informative and knowledgeable. He made our tour fun and was flexible with all our demands. This is definitely a tour I highly recommend. The Communa 13 is an unbelievable site bustling with life and culture!

It is a very fun and educational tour. We took the subway to Comuna 13 where we changed to the cable car. This way you have a nice view of the whole neighborhood. Then we took the local bus into the district. Our guide Annie was very nice and could tell a lot about the neighborhood!

What an AWESOME time! Shout out to Walter for the amazing guided tour and laughs! This was a great trip to see such a beautiful area. I loved that we took public transport and the can car. I also really loved to learn about the history of Comuna 13. This was really worth booking and I do recommend, especially if you are a solo traveler.
You have to take if or if this tour! Unmissable

Do not come to Medellín without booking this tour with Cristian. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and took us all through communa 13. He explained a lot to history to us and we loved it. It was the top highlight of our trip

The tour and our tour guide, Felipe, were excellent!! Felipe was so knowledgeable and took time to educate our group on the neighborhood's history. He was very friendly and kind, and made sure we all were accounted for and safe. He helped us navigate multiple forms of transportation in the city. We highly recommend the Comuna 13 tour with Felipe!!

A perfect tour to know commune 13 and all its history. Our guide Ángel was amazing, tells the whole story excellently and knows everything like the back of his hand, explaining every detail of the neighborhood, making the visit to the commune 1000 times better than going alone. I recommend it full not only for foreign tourists but also for other Colombians, because the history of commune 13 is a reflection of our history as a country and we should all know it.
