Nami Island

Namiseom (Nami Island) is a curious place. The island is shaped like a half-moon. The formation was triggered by the building of the Cheongpyeong Dam thanks to the North Han River. The name comes from General Nami. He was the hero who helped Korea win against the rebels in the 13th year of King Sejo – the 7th king of the Joseon Dynasty. The natural beauty here was preserved by making sure that there aren’t any telephone polls visible – all electric wires are deep underground.

Nami Island

It’s no secret that people in Korea love a good meal. On our Nami Island and Garden of Morning Calm tour, you will have the chance to eat like a local! We will treat you to Dak Galbi – a spicy dish where chicken is stir-fried in a gochujang-based sauce with cabbage, scallions, perilla leaves, sweet potatoes, and tteok (rice cake).

Thank you, Viator, for this wonderful experience on our tour package! Our guide, Mr. Junu, did an outstanding job. He truly embodies the role of a tour guide, always by our side to help us find the perfect spots for photos. He has a strong rapport with the clients, making the experience even more enjoyable. I’m thrilled with today’s tour; the timing was perfect. We arrived at each site when there were fewer people, allowing us to explore freely and capture stunning pictures. A special thanks to Mr. Jake, who not only served as our tour guide but also proved to be an exceptional photographer. All the photos he took were beautiful and very professional. Thank you both for making this a memorable experience!

Our family of 4 had a great time on this tour. We loved Nami Island and all its picturesque spots all over the island. Jay did an amazing time answering all our questions about what’s it like living in South Korea during the ride. He even went out of his way to take photos for us so we didn’t have to set up our tripod. We also loved the Garden of Morning Calm. While it would have been beautiful to see all the lights on throughout the arboretum at night, it was freezing cold and we prioritized seeing Nami Island during the day. The Garden had a beautiful frozen pond at the end of the trail and quaint buildings for us to take photos with. It felt we were back in time.
