We depart from Tirana towards Durrës, one of the most beautiful coastal cities in Albania, rich in history and a vibrant atmosphere. After about an hour’s drive, we arrive in this ancient city and begin our exploration with a visit to the Royal Villa of King Zog. Perched on a hill with a stunning view of the Adriatic Sea, this royal residence offers us a glimpse into the reign of King Zog and the history of the villa. Although now abandoned following the events of 1997, it remains a symbol of Albania’s regal past.
Descending on foot, we visit one of the city's ancient towers, a restored structure that serves as a panoramic balcony offering a breathtaking 360° view of Durrës and the sea. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the fortifications that once protected this strategic port city.

The trip was easy enough from Tirana, but the overall experience was good apart from the weather. The ancient city sites were more interesting. The amphitheatre and old-town area gave a better sense of culture, but the maintenance and signage could be much better. Sea views were good in certain spots, especially along the promenade, but nothing that blows you away. The beaches in Durrës and Golem were fine for a quick break, though the cleanliness and water clarity weren’t impressive. Facilities were decent. Baily stood out immediately. Friendly without being fake, and genuinely informative. They gave clear guidance, answered questions properly, and made the whole visit smoother. That level of service is rare in tourist spots, and it made a noticeable difference to the experience. Overall: a decent day trip if you’re already in Tirana and want something simple and more interested in history than beaches.

Very interesting and fun experience, to one of the biggest cities in Albania. The Tour was great, and the Bailey guide, especially, made our trip very enjoyable and explained many stories of this beautiful country.

The outing was really friendly and interesting. Ervin, the guide who accompanied us throughout the day, allowed us to better understand the millennia-old culture of this country, folklore and the many facets of Albanian life. Beautiful outing, no downtime, visit mixing parts by bus and parts on foot. This outing is also suitable for families with young children and stroller. To be done.
