  Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for the locals, the village no longer preserves its original characteristics. Most houses are now made of blocks and bricks. As for the waterfall, speechless, it remains wonderful.

  This was an amazing adventure through local villages and jungle landscape on the way to a local waterfall. The tour guide called Anong was very professional and an amazing tour guide. We did a number of tours with him while we were in Luang Prabang. It was an amazing few days and this particular tour was the highlight of our trip. • Really great day of trekking

  This was a really great tour - definitely exceeded my expectations! We booked a group tour but wound up getting a private tour. Our driver took us an hour into the mountains on a dirt road to a Hmong village. Then we hiked through the countryside, had lunch with our guide (who was really great - we learned a lot!) and spent the afternoon at the waterfall before getting a ride back to our hotel. I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys trekking and wants to see more of the Laotian countryside without going too far from Luang Prabang, and while still getting to see Kuang Si.

  If you are looking for an easy to moderate trek in the lush tropical forest in the morning, this is it. The sights of the Kaung Si waterfalls and a dip in the cascading falls is your reward at the end if the trek. Daeng is a very patient guide who is caring and thoughtful and very fit as well.he prepared snacks for me along the way. V nice! Solo travellers, I reccommend him! Ken who coordinates the tours from his office in Lung Prabang is an enthusiastic and friendly young chap who is very responsive. He will personally see u in peeson. It helps that I could contact him directly for any issues. I reccommend his services if you are in Luang Prabang.

  Very good day with Lee. Only me and one other solo traveler so nearly private! Enjoyed the brief walk through the village. The trek was great - stopped for a few short breaks and Lee was good about identifying trees and fruits. We had plenty of water which was nice (some tours limit your quantity!). Ending with lunch at the waterfall was great! I recommend this tour for a chance to see village life, a stimulating hike and beautiful waterfalls!

  We stumbled across this "tour" option and selected it because it gave us the opportunity to be active and get out into the countryside. We expected basically to hike along a trail, surrounded by jungle. It is much more than that. The trek starts in a mountain village and a good portion of the trail at the outset leads through fields and plantations that are actively planted and maintained by local farmers. Very interesting to see first hand! Our guide Than (spelling?) was great. He explained and showed us a lot about the culture, the history, the agriculture and plants, and about his family. (It was a nice surprise to meet him and his wife in the morning market, where she sells produce, a couple of days later.) A refreshing dip in the pools below the waterfall rounded off a great day.
