Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic)
Meet your guide and small group first thing in the morning at a convenient location on the edge of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. Board a private minibus for the hour-long drive out to Montserrat. Along the way, your guide will give you a bit of information about Barcelona, Catalonia, and Montserrat itself to set the scene for your experience.
Abadia de Montserrat
It’ll still be early by the time you get to Montserrat, so you’ll beat the crowds that tend to arrive later in the morning. Explore the basilica and 11th-century monastery with your guide. They'll share stories of religion, nature, and history that will help you appreciate Montserrat more than if you had attempted to navigate this fascinating space on your own. Among other stories, your guide will tell you about the famous Black Madonna (La Moreneta), a carved wooden statue from the 12th century that many pilgrims believe has healing powers. Your guide will also show you where you can see it from the basilica. After the guided portion of your Montserrat visit, you’ll have a 45-minutes of free time to explore the site and its surroundings at your own pace. Visit the small yet impressive onsite art museum with paintings by Dalí and Picasso, hike to a nearby panoramic viewpoint, explore the local farmers market, or grab a cup of coffee in the café.

Great experience! Our tour guide Lorena was awesome and enthusiastic the whole time. She made the tour more lively with her sense of humor. The tour felt very well constructed. I would advise to plan ahead since a lot of the activities require a ticket that needs to be purchased ahead of time. Overall it was a great time and the winery was very nice.

Our favourite Barcelona tour by far! Montserrat was amazing! We loved the ethereal feel of the place. It was just beautiful. Alexandra, our tour guide was brilliant - our second tour with her and we rate her very highly. She is a font of knowledge and very passionate about sharing Barcelona and Spain with us. And the winery tour was a great addition. Georgina showed us through the wine cellars and we later visited the winery and ended up in a beautiful old building on the property set amongst the vines where we had lunch and more wine. We were hosted by Joan the owner. You cannot miss this tour if you come to Barcelona! Thanks for your hospitality Joan, and Georgina for the guided tour of the winery. And thanks again Alexandra!

We really enjoyed this tour. Valentina was an excellent guide. Getting to Montserrat early is a really good idea..and we beat the crowds. The trip to the winery , the tastings and the tour of the vineyard was superb. Lunch with local products was excellent. Would highly recommend as a great experience and break from the big crowds in Barcelona.
