Morning: Depart from Tirana early with our pick up at the hotel. Explore Berat Castle, home to Onufri Museum and medieval churches. Berat Castle, also known as Kalaja e Beratit, is one of Albania’s most iconic historical sites. Perched on a hill overlooking the Osum River, the fortress dates back to the 4th century BC but was expanded by the Byzantines and Ottomans. Unlike most castles, Berat Castle is still inhabited, with people living in traditional houses within its walls. Inside, you’ll find the Onufri Museum, medieval churches, and mosques, showcasing a blend of religious and cultural heritage. Gorica Bridge

The Gorica Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in Berat, Albania, spanning the Osum River and connecting the historic Gorica and Mangalem neighborhoods. Originally built in the 18th century, the stone bridge has undergone several reconstructions, maintaining its elegant Ottoman architectural style. With its seven stone arches and stunning views of Berat’s UNESCO-listed cityscape, it serves as both a functional crossing and a picturesque historical site. After a traditional breakfast we will visit Gjirokastër Castle and the Museum of Weapons. Gjirokastër Castle, one of Albania’s most impressive fortresses, towers over the historic city of Gjirokastër, offering breathtaking views of the Drino Valley. With origins dating back to the 12th century, the castle has witnessed centuries of history, from Ottoman rule to communist-era military use. Inside, visitors can explore old prison cells, artillery displays, and the National Museum of Armaments, which showcases weapons from various periods. The castle also houses a mysterious American spy plane, symbolizing Cold War tensions. Its grand festivals and folklore events make it a vibrant cultural hub.

Gjirokastra Bazaar
