We took 3 tours. The first was Gobustan-Absheron including mood volcanos with the guide Ulker. The second Candy Cane Mountain and Shahdag with Elshad and the third was a walking tour in Baku with Javid. Our experience with the company was excellent, our guides were the best you can expect, super friendly and made the tours very interesting and informative. All was well coordinated and smooth. I very strongly recommend them.

Our guide was exceptional and so knowledgeable. I learned so many new things, not only about Azerbaijan but how many things the World has in common with Baku.

We booked the half-day Baku tour (2–6 pm) through GetYourGuide and unfortunately had a very poor experience due to a complete lack of communication and organisation from the operator. When booking, we were asked to choose a pickup location and selected the Seven Rooms Hotel in the Old Town, which was listed as an option. We received confirmation and were told to be in the lobby 10 minutes before 13:50. The instructions also said we’d hear from our guide before the tour, but if not, to contact them within 24 hours — so we did. Despite multiple polite messages asking for confirmation of our pickup time and location, we only received vague responses. At 12:15 (less than two hours before pickup), we still hadn’t heard anything. We were then asked out of the blue if we wanted to join the group for lunch — something never mentioned before and frankly unacceptable to offer 45 minutes before lunchtime! We declined and again asked for confirmation. We were finally told that a van would collect us from the Seven Rooms Hotel between 14:00–14:05. We arrived early at 13:58 and waited. At 14:15, they asked if we were ready (we’d already been waiting 15 minutes), and five minutes later said a taxi was on the way — not the van we were told to expect. Shortly after, we learned that the taxi had left without us, and at 14:26 we were told to walk to the Four Seasons (a 10-minute walk away) because the taxi “couldn’t enter the Old Town.” At no point were we ever told this before — and they had known for weeks where our hotel was, as it was a pickup option on the GetYourGuide website. We finally got into a taxi at 14:39, were dropped off in a random car park at 14:50 with just a photo of a white van and no explanation, and had to search around aimlessly until someone called us. When we finally met the guide, he was curt, unwelcoming, and acted as though we were at fault. No apology, no explanation — just “Three persons?” followed by “Hurry up.” We eventually joined the group — one full hour late — through absolutely no fault of our own. While the tour guide on the bus was polite enough, there was minimal effort to engage with us or make us feel included after joining late. The tour itself was average at best — nothing that made up for the stress and disorganisation beforehand. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. The operator needs to take responsibility for their poor communication, lack of coordination, and unprofessional handling of guests. I wouldn’t recommend this tour, and I’d urge GetYourGuide to review this supplier’s communication and logistics processes — they fell far below acceptable standards.

I booked this tour with Heritage Tours through Get Your Guide App & my guide at the Heritage tour office which was at walkable distance in Old Town. After a short coffee break, we first drive down to Gobu national park which has deep cultural & historic landscape. Our tour guide Raza explained each area very well. He also, allocated time to get Instagramable photos. Then we had unforgettable experience at the Mud Volcano area. We also saw volcano erupt & mud lava flowing out of it. However, you need to watch your steps in this area very carefully as one the visitors stepped inside the mud which was deep. Our guide, Raza helped him a lotto recover well. Then we had a stop for very delicious lunch at an authentic restaurant. Three of us also got to enjoy good vegetarian options. After lunch, we had a phot stop at Heydar Aliyev Center. The tour doesn’t allow the time to visit inside so you need to come back if you are interested in the museums & opera. Later, we drove to Yanar Dag to see a natural phenomenon where the flames that are a constant & then to Ateshgah - Fire Temple of Baku, a place where Iranian and Indian - Hindu, Sikh, and Zoroastrian once worshiped. Great learnings about the history. This was the end of the lovely day – full of learnings, joy and good food. Our guide Razza managed the timing and expectations of the tour very well. :-)

Trip was great. Guide knowledgeable. However the mini bus, while air-conditioned which was great, was squashy and you cannot see very well, the scenery.

Our tour started at the time mentioned while booking. Our guide Riz was knowledgeable and made sure we he answered all our questions about the places we visited. The fire temple was intriguing. Mud volcanoes and Yanardag were just average. The tour would have been had we spent more time as we were only given 20-30 minutes at every location.
