We paid for the private tour. We receive very little information and the driver spoke no English. There was no available water. And we had to pay the entrance fee for every site. At some places we were given a private guide but not in every place. We felt for the charge of $100 per person for the car we should have had admission fee included and there should’ve been water as promised. The tour operator did not reach out us beforehand had to let us know what was happening. So we were unsure at each site what kind of ticket to buy and who would be helping us. We received no guidance at the mud volcanoes at all. The sites were really interesting and we had a great day. But we had to Google a lot of things on our phone to understand what we we were seeing. The day ended up being much more expensive than anticipated, because on top of the car fee, we had to pay to get in everywhere.

The mud vulcanoes and the off road route to reach them are great. Guide knows a lot and is very kind. For fire hill and fire temple you have to face the traffic of Baku again. Tour started half an hour later than planned and ended 3 hours later than schedules. Tour guide said the day before the tour ended 4 hours late because of traffic and people who took more time at the different spots than allowed. But at our tour, everyone respected the time limits (which were okay) and traffic just seemed like the normal Baku (busy) traffic. But still the tour ended 3 hours late. They better skip some attractions or adjust the estimated time

The mud volcanoes where a little underwhelming, but the ride up with the "Lada Rally Club" was an experience. The mosque is stunning and Yanardag was more interesting that I expected. Would have been nice to have some time to go inside the Heydar Cultural Center, but I would not have wanted to start the tour earlier to be able to make it there in time. The lunch place was delightful.

We did this trip on 8th. Really enjoyed it. A full day with five sites. My highlight was the fire temple and we also had lunch here. Our guide Rosi was very good fun and very welcoming, full of info. Would recommend this tour as a nice getaway from Baku.
