They picked us up at our hotel and our guide, Miguel was great. This was overall a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, after having to wait for one family for over 20 minutes past the scheduled depart at one of the stops (in the hot bus), this cut our boat ride time and we didn't see any celebrity homes. The helicopter ride (separate fee) is an approximate 8 minute ride, for your awareness. Further, the bus driver was quite discourteous and told us to hurry and get off the bus because he was not at an official bus stop during one of the drop-off points so he took off with one of our friends still trying to get off the bus and started driving off while I was getting out! Prepare for this to be an all day activity, and although lunch was included later in the day, you might want to buy your own lunch after all (at the proper typical lunch hour). We were picked up at 7:30a.m. and dropped off at the town park (not at our hotel because only pickup was a courtesy) at night, in the rain around 8:15pm. So also be prepared to get back to your hotel on your own terms. I'm only rating this as "good" because Miguel was good and requested a review; otherwise, I would have rated this activity as "average".

You should know that Guatapé is far from Medellin and it will be a very long day. I think there are too many stops that can be skipped, so we can enjoy more time at the places. We arrived in Guatapé at 7 p.m. and didn't have time to see anything.

This was a great experience and was extremely balanced with something for everyone: trying different local food, unstructured time to explore Guatape, and some active time climbing El Penol. Highly recommend! The lunch cruise offered great views of the area as well.

What a Deal. I can't say enough about this tour. It was amazing and more than what we expected. The tour guide was phenomenal, the snacks were tasty and the boat ride with lunch offered a relaxing touch. Really enjoyed visiting the city of Guatape on our own time. Only issue is they had to change the bus tire which took a while. Otherwise, the tour was worth every penny and more. I would highly recommend.
