Mount Victoria Lookout
What about this for a first stop! Check out the best vantage point in our beautiful city. Breathtaking 360 degree views of the central business district, the harbour & the ocean to the south. Stunnnnning! Legend has it that Wellington harbour, originally a land-locked lake, was home to two large and very active taniwha (sea monsters). One taniwha forged a passage to the open sea creating the entrance to the harbour. The second, named Whataitai, tried a different route, became stranded and died. It is believed that Tangi-te keo (Mt Victoria) was named after the soul of Whataitai. Probably the best photo opportunity on the tour, our guide/host would be delighted to be your personal photographer for the day. What a beautiful city!

We did the morning tour with David, who was excellent! He knows Wellington inside out and shared lots of information with us. We obtained a far better overview of the city than if we had tried to take ourselves round - we wouldn't have seen half as much or had David's insider view. Highly recommended.

We spent a great morning with Nathan touring the greater Wellington area- the itinerary, information, pace, and open hearted conversation was a perfect introduction to a beautiful city. It hit all the highlights of the area and gave us a much better sense of how we wanted to spend the rest of our time in Wellington. Nathan was born to do this- one of the world’s most articulate extroverts. He made such an effort to remember everyone’s name, gave a really interesting running commentary, and bantered happily with us on many topics. It was a flawless experience.

Fantastic Nathan was a fantastic guide, extremely knowledgeable, not only about the sights we visited, but also about the history and culture of Wellington. The time spent with him was more like being on a trip with a friend. Highly recommendable as a guide and excellent value for money. Jean + Hendrik Wales/Germany

What a great experience. Pick up was spot on time. Nathan was very engaging and informative. He shared a lot of history of the city and of the local customs and traditions. We can definitely recommend this tour if your time is limited and it's value for money.
