Well organised trip. Our tour guide picked us up on time. He was knowledgable, provided a lot of informations about the Terracotta army and a little bit about Xian. The burial pits were a bit crowded but it was to be expected. We enjoyed the trip overall.

Kai - our guide - was punctual, organized and very informative in this must-do tour for the terracotta warriors. He smartly guided our small private group through the bid queues and large numbers of people trying to get the best view of the statues. He also helped us choose our meal at lunch before taking us back on time to catch a train at the station. This tour is super recommended in general and especially if you are just stopping briefly in Xian (which to be honest deserves more time than just a day) as they are very flexible in where they pick you and take you back (hotel / airport / train station).

We only had half a day to see the magnificent Terracotta Warriors. Our guide Noble was superb. Very good English, informative and good sense of humour. Helped us with train tickets at drop off - which was extremely valuable.

We had an amazing private tour with Becky the tour guide. Becky and the driver picked us up at 7.30am to head to the Terracotta Army. Tip - aim for an early start to avoid traffic and queues. We stopped en route at the place where they make replicas. This was good as they showed the process. You could buy whole replica's of the Terracotta Army and have it shipped to you if wanted. We then made our way to the Terracotta Warriors. Becky explained in detail the story of the army, and why it was there. Also explained the discovery in 1974 by a farmer. The farmers were drilling holes in the hopes of finding water to dig wells when they came upon some ancient terracotta pottery shards. It didn't take long for news of this discovery to spread and then Chinese archaeological team began excavating the site. What these farmers had discovered was the 2200-year-old remains of a life-sized, terracotta army that had been buried with Qin Shihuangdi. Buried in underground pits, there are 8,000 terracotta army. It is now a Unesco heritage site. The site is divided into 3 pits. Pit 1 is the orginal discovery site and the size of two football pitches. Pit 3 is half that size and Pit 2 is the smallest. More excavation will be done over the next several years. But for now this is an amazing site to see. Well worth going. Becky and the driver then dropped us back. All in all a rough 5 hour trip. Thank you Becky and keep up the good work. We really enjoyed the trip.

We booked this tour for a short one day trip to Xian just to see the Terracotta Warriors. The communication from the company was very effective and efficient. They met us at our hotel and had a van with a toddler seat for our two year old already strapped in and ready for her. Our tour guide was Simon, he is the BEST. He was so friendly and willing to answer all of our questions from the start. His english was amazing and he went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible experience. He does this tour 25 times a month and so he knows everything about the warriors. Our first stop was a cool little shop where they showed us how they make the Terracotta Warriors. We had a tour guide walk us through (she was very polite and not pushy at all). From there we drove straight to the warriors and Simon already had our tickets for us. We walked right in and straight to pit one. It was extremely busy when we were there but Simon knew all of the short cuts for us to take and also stopped in places with amazing views that were less crowded. He was so patient with our jetlagged two year old and went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and happy while we were there. Simon knew everything that we could've ever wanted to know about the Terracotta Warriors, he even gave us history on some of the other historical sights we would see during our visit to China. On our way back to the car, our daughter was hungry so Simon helped us order food for her. We got to the car and Simon asked us what we would like to eat for lunch, we said we wanted noodles and he took us to the most incredible local noodle shop. Xian is known for their noodles and we know why. We will be dreaming of this meal for years! When we got back in the car it was an hour drive to the airport, we were able to just relax and our daughter took a quick nap. When we got to the airport we thought that Simon would just drop us off, but he went the extra mile and checked us into our flights which ended up being very helpful because there was an issue with our tickets we never would have figured out because of the language barrier. This was the BEST experience we have ever had with a private tour. Don't look anywhere else, you won't find a better tour!

Our tour guide Isaac was the best! He picked us up at the train station and drove us to the Warriors. This is definitely a great option. We bypassed all of the lines and the crowds were minimal. We went in the afternoon. Isaac gave us all of the history on the warriors and gave us time to explore on our own. Our driver was great as well. We went to many different places in China and for us, the private tours through Viator were THE WAY TO GO!!

Maggie and driver were great, easy to understand and very knowledgeable. Traffic was tremendous and the crowds, due to tomb sweeping holiday, were even greater but thats not the tours fault. 4 hour tour was in reality 8 hours.
