5.00Wonderful experience all around. Willy was a fantastic tour guide, full of lots of information historically on Heidelberg , Altstadt and even the highways and roads in Germany. Throughout he was sharing tidbits along the way to the castle and was a great driver , humorous and very helpful with suggestions. I would highly recommend doing a tour with him again in the future.

5.00Visiting Heidelberg Castle and the Old Town with my family was one of the highlights of our trip to Germany. From the moment we arrived, the city felt like something out of a fairytale, charming streets, warm people, and a stunning view of the castle perched high above the river. We took the funicular up to the castle, and as we climbed, the view of the Neckar River and the red rooftops below grew more and more beautiful. When we reached the top, the castle took our breath away. It’s partly in ruins, but that only adds to its magic. Walking through the old courtyards and gardens, you can really feel the history. My family loved seeing the giant wine barrel inside. It was so huge that we couldn’t believe it was real. Standing on the castle terrace, we had the most incredible view of Heidelberg. The whole city stretched out beneath us - the winding river, the Old Bridge, the church towers, and the colorful buildings all glowing in the afternoon light. We stood there for a while just taking it in. After exploring the castle, we went back down to the Old Town. The streets were full of life, with people walking, shopping, and enjoying the day. We wandered along the Hauptstraße, stopping in little stores and cafés. At one point we sat in the market square with ice cream, listening to a street musician play. The sound of the guitar mixed with the chatter of people and the bells of the church made the whole moment feel peaceful and warm. Before heading back, we walked across the Old Bridge to look back at the city. The view of the castle reflected in the water as the sun began to set was unforgettable. It was one of those moments where everything feels calm and perfect, and you just want to hold on to it a little longer. Visiting Heidelberg Castle and the Old Town with my family was more than just sightseeing. It was a day filled with beauty, history, and togetherness. We all left feeling like we had just lived a little piece of history, and it’s a memory we’ll treasure for a long time.
