Come with us to one of the most beautiful destinations in Germany: The Middle Rhine Valley. The very spectacular section of the river from Rüdesheim to St. Goarshausen is UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see a good part of it.
Assmannshausen
After approx. 50 minutes we will reach the Rhine Valley by bus. Drive along the river banks, then up the hills. Enjoy a fantastic view over the valley and the beauty of its nature. If you like you can join the delightful ride with the ropeway down into the valley (only for the Full Day Tour and only in summertime), it is available on a small extra fee. Right at the river edge, a short walk leads to the restaurant, a lovely place in Ruedesheim-Assmannshausen. A light lunch is served at this richly decorated and furnished place with original antiquities. Drinks as well as dessert are not included in the lunch arrangements. We will leave the restaurant and walk to the pier to embark one of the typical white Rhine steamer ships. Slowly downstreaming the most beautiful part of the valley passengers will enjoy the stunning scenic beauty of the river panorama.

Great way to see Rhine valley. Lunch was at this restaurant and then river cruise was amazing. Our driver and tour guide Michael was really good and also took us to some other sights for photos. Would highly recommend.

The driver Michael was very good - he had passion in his job, knowledgeable and was personable. The Mercedes Van that they transported us in was comfortable and the views down the Rhine were awesome. However.........the river portion was just a little over an hour; I was expecting much longer. The lunch/dinner did not include any drinks - not even water. The part that was a joke was the wine tasting. I am not exaggerating when I say that the 4 wines we tasted were 1/10th of an ounce (served in a shot glass with hardly any in the bottom); and then they try to sell you bottles of it. If your deciding factor is "the wine tasting", RUN!

We spent a very enjoyable day on this combination bus and river boat tour with our wonderful guide, Michael. Michael was both driver and tour guide, introducing us to the regional highlights and notable features as we made our way to lunch. He speaks excellent idiomatic English, and had us laughing constantly at his friendly banter and wry humour. Before lunch he took us on a short walking tour of a small riverside town. Lunch at the restaurant was tasty and relaxing, and was a nice way to get to know other travelers on the tour. After lunch, where we chose delicious schnitzel, Michael dropped us off at the Rhine River tour, which lasted about 80 minutes. He greeted us up the river with the van and drove us above a picturesque town, where we enjoyed a scenic, unhurried chair lift ride down back into the river valley to the town. The ride back to Frankfurt was smooth and easy, punctuated with Michael’s friendly commentary. The combined van and boat tours were a great way to see some beautiful historic and natural sights without the hassle of driving and navigating, or taking public transportation. That our guide was as fun and personable as Michael was an added and much appreciated bonus.
