4.00Our driver, Moaz, arrived promptly in a beautiful, clean Mercedes v class van supplied with water and candies, and whisked us away to Heidelberg, where we toured the castle, the church and the old bridge. (Go early, because the town gets overwhelmed with the addition of the bus tours.) There was plenty more to do-shops and cafes to explore, but unfortunately the timeline of the tour did not allow for that. We hopped back in the van and made the journey to Rothenburg, the fairy tale town. This is such a majestic town and deserves a full day of availability to properly tour all aspects. The half timbered houses and Christmas shops were inviting. We toured St. Jakob’s Church and the Crime Museum. I would have loved to walk the perimeter walls that enclose the town, but time did not allow. We indulged in a schneeball, the local pastry, and that was a nice treat. We really enjoyed our day and Moaz was great. I have rated this tour 4 stars instead of 5 only because there was not enough time to appropriately visit all highlights in both cities. There is at least 4 hours of driving throughout the tour and I wish we had allotted one day to each city instead of squeezing them both into 1 tour.
