An extremely competent and safe driver who has been driving this treacherous pass for 19 years. Unfortunately the weather was grey and wet so we didn’t see the views in their best light. Stopped for coffee and a snack at Lagoon 2 which was much better than we had expected.

We booked this tour as a transfer from Hoi An to Hue. Our driver Tom was very friendly and kind and spoke great English. He never rushed us and was more than willing to stop at different spots along the way to take photos. He also gave us some good recommendations for Hue.

Our guide Tom was very knowledgeable and communicated well. He emphasized there was no rush and we could stop for photos whenever we wanted. He stopped at the places we were expecting and a couple we didn’t (vey interesting to stop at a war cemetery, which we started noticing many of as we continued north). Good experience.

First Happy was an amazing tour guide! He was super friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us recommendations while also allowing us to customize the trip how we needed. Second, this trip can be flexible. We were in Hoi An and needed transportation to a resort the was somewhere in between Hoi An and Hue, and they made that happen. Also, at first I wanted to add on a stop (ended up changing my mind) but they said I could add it on for a small fee which was a nice option. Along the way to our resort, we stopped at Marble Mountain, the beach, and a seafood restaurant in Lang Co. Every stop was great and the drive was super scenic. Highly recommend!

Our driver arrived at the hotel on time, was pleasant, chatty and informative. He highlighted many things en route. The cafe break by the lagoon was a well-timed break in the journey, the owner talking about his oyster farming and how they make oyster sauce fir home use. Sounds hot!! We also stopped at the top of Hai Van for the views (not many as we were there in October!) but also saw the border gate between the ancient Viet and Champa empires, which was unexpected. The transfer was efficient, comfortable and entertaining.
