This is not just a sports activity, it´s also a chance to discover the unique nature of Tenerife. You will go along the rocky shore that you can see from the ocean only, as it´s totally not accessible on foot. You need to be a wee bit for this activity. We did it on a calm day and I was knackered after it. We saw dolphins and a few turtles.

When reading the description we thought that we were booking kayaking to go and see turtles, when in reality, we may as well not have bothered. During the briefing our guide, David, gave us the safety instructions and told us all to stick together to make it easier for them to help us in the event of emergency. He had a colleague with him as a second hand who I assumed would stay at the back of the group whilst David stayed at the front. In reality, as soon as David saw the pace of the quickest kayakers, he stuck with them. There were 2 occasions where we were left some 300 metres away from the rest of the group, and the second guide had joined the others at the front of the pack. Given the choppy conditions, if our kayak had flipped, there is no way that they would have been able to make it back to us quickly which was incredibly dangerous. In addition, we both had to paddle harder to try and keep up with them, so by the time we actually caught up to the group, I was feeling incredibly sick and unenergised. We told David that he needed to slow down and that I was feeling sick, and he eventually slowed the pace a little. The snorkelling goggles which we were given were shocking - they kept filling with water and fogging up, so neither of us could actually do the snorkelling properly either. Not that there were any turtles to actually see! On the way back I was so exhausted that I actually vomited, which should not have happened we weren’t sticking to a pace of experienced and professional kayakers. Another couple afterwards said exactly the same as us, that as beginners, this experience was not at all enjoyable for them. So, in summary, if you’re a beginner or not an experienced kayaker, do not bother. You will be dangerously left on your own in choppy conditions. This experience was a complete waste of money, I would not recommend it and I will definitely be looking at alternatives next time.

It's my first time to do kayaking and snorkeling. Ayop, our tour guide, gave us an incredible and memorable experience. He was very patient and helpful. You can tell that he really likes what he does and not just doing it for the money. We saw a turtle surfacing the water but unfortunately we couldn't go near it as it was located near a protected area of the sea. Nonetheless, the overall experience was espectacular. He took us to a safer area to do our snorkeling as the waves were getting rough. He took pictures and videos in his GoPro. He will even lend it to you as you snorkel. They will send the pictures through your email for an additional cost but it's all worth it. You can also bring your own camera if you have one.
