One of the best tours we have had on this trip. Stavros had an incredible knowledge of Crete and was extremely welcoming to all of us on the tour. We especially enjoyed seeing the non-touristy parts of the island, including visiting olive oil presses and local farms. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Crete.

Six of us did this tour while on a cruise ship. Gosh. Beguiling. Driving into the heart of the island, through farmland, hills, small villages. We all deemed it our best day yet. Our tour guide, Spyros, was a passionate, impeccable host. Too many special details to mention! Quite simply, if you are able to get onto this tour, just do it!

If you're looking for an immersive, hands-on way to discover the true heart of Crete, don’t hesitate—book this excursion. It’s so much more than a tour; it’s a journey into the island’s culture, flavors, and history that you simply can’t get in the city. Our guide, Ed, made the day exceptional. A proud local from a small village in southern Crete, Ed was knowledgeable, engaging, funny, and incredibly attentive. His passion for his home and its traditions shines through in everything he does. He’s built genuine partnerships with small villages to give visitors an authentic taste of Greek life, far off the beaten path. We started with olive oil tasting at a local facility, where we sampled infused olive oil and unique products like rich olive paste and sweet grapes paired with raki—a truly unforgettable flavor combination. Throughout the day, we wandered through charming inland villages, tasted wild grapes growing right on the buildings, and learned about the village history and culture. There were adorable boutique shops, refreshing iced coffee, and even stops to explore traditional windmills still standing proud in the countryside. One of the highlights was visiting local organic farms in peak season. We picked strawberries, watermelon, cucumbers, and peppers straight from the vine—no pesticides, no fuss, just pure, sweet flavor. Enjoyed wine under the apple trees. We even brought fruit back to our room to enjoy later. Lunch at a farm’s rustic restaurant was nothing short of magical—fresh, local ingredients served with love in a beautiful, relaxed setting. Ed made plenty of scenic stops for breathtaking photo opportunities, and we wrapped up the day with a visit to Knossos, a fascinating ancient ruin that tied together the historical depth of the island. This was more than just sightseeing—it was a deep dive into the soul of Crete. Highly, highly recommended.

We've been on vacation throughout Greece for almost three weeks now, and this was by far our favourite tour. Stavros was hilarious and so knowledgeable. He truly took us to see the quiet side of Greece, with zero tourists in the places we went (except Knosses of course). It doesn't mention food tour in the description, but it practically became one with how much food we ate - from oil olive with bread and tomatoes, picking a bunch of fresh fruit from a farm, to Stavros buying us pure sheep yogurt and honey. Would 100% recommend!

Stavros, was the most personable and fun guide we've ever had. He kept us entertained the whole trip. He is a native, and this tour takes you to the mountains, small villages and farms away from the most of the tourist. We enjoyed olive oil, coffee, yogurt, & strawberries along the way. The lunch stop was delicious and had a great view. We ended the day at Knossos Palace. It was a full day, 8:30 to 5:00. Highly recommended.
