Hwiho Craft is a traditional craft experience workshop in Korea, where you can immerse yourself in the art of mother-of-pearl craftsmanship.
Through this experience, you will learn the techniques behind working with mother-of-pearl, a unique material made from thinly processed seashells that display vibrant colors. These natural hues possess a sophisticated beauty that can’t be replicated artificially.
At our workshop, you will have the opportunity to create a variety of items, such as keychains, hair accessories, compact mirrors, and accessory boxes, all using mother-of-pearl.
You can express a wide range of designs, from traditional Korean patterns to personal initials. We offer a selection of patterns, shapes, and even Hangeul or English letters to create a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
Join us at one of Seoul’s hottest spots and craft your very own personalized keepsake!

The workshop is located on the 4th floor of the building. There is no elevator in the building, so you can access the workshop via the stairs.
All participants are required to purchase at least one experience item.
Each participant may select a different item. If two adults want to make different things — for example, one wants a ring box and the other a keyring — just add each person with their item to the cart one by one. Then check out all together at once.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
You will learn about Najeon Chilgi, the traditional Korean craft of mother-of-pearl inlay. In the class, you will choose the item you want to create and learn the process from the instructor’s explanation. Design your own unique piece using various shapes and mother-of-pearl pieces. The experience lasts for an hour and a half, which is plenty of time to create your beautiful souvenir. While the instructor wraps up your completed craft, you can watch a video about the process of making traditional Korean Najeon Chilgi. Afterward, you will be able to admire your brightly shining, colorful creation.

I came with some friends in a 6-person class and we had a nice, relaxing time. I made a keychain and it’s a good way to experience a traditional art form in a modern format. There are a number of cute shapes to pick from and you can also add your name! Overall, it’s a quick and cheap ($30) little souvenir!

What a lovely way to spend an hour!!! Very relaxing activity in a cute little studio. Teacher was great and really helpful. We both made a mirror and were very happy with our souvenir. Thank you for a great morning 😊 FYI...the entrance is around the side of the coffee shop downstairs. Look for the pink studio sign.

We had a wonderful time, the host was kind and friendly. It was a relaxing environment and it was clean. All materials were provided. Even though I'm not naturally creative we were able to make some lovely pieces.
