Had a great day with Pier visiting wineries around Alba. We visited a vineyard that produces Barbaresco in the morning and a vineyard that produces Barolo in the afternoon. Visits were relaxed and very informative. Pier was a great guide - very knowledgeable and made the day very enjoyable. Pier is also arranging for some wine to be shipped home to us. Happy to recommend this tour.

This was our first experience signing up for a private tour of anything and we are so glad that we did. It was great. Our guide and driver, Riste, is a very knowledgeable and personable young man. Riste was very accommodating to my physical and dietary needs. We visited two family-owned vineyards and tasted many wonderful wines. At the first vineyard we visited, we met with the owner, Paolo, and he walked us through his wines, which were delicious. We did our tasting in what I think was Paolo’s backyard; it was everything anyone could want in a wine tasting in Piedmont. We then took a break for a magnificent lunch in the small town of Castiglione Falletto. It was probably the best meal I had in our 12 days in Italy. After lunch, Riste drove us to another small town in the area, Barolo, at my request. We spent some time there visiting the beautiful town until it was time to leave for our second vineyard visit. The second vineyard was also family-owned but the tasting was in a more corporate environment. A young lady gave a very polished presentation and we learned a lot about the terroir of Piedmont. The wines were also very, very good. The polished presentation did, however, take a little bit away from the personal touch we experienced at the first vineyard. All in all, we were very happy with the total experience. It was definitely worth it. We did purchase several bottles of wine from both vineyards and the tour company is shipping them to the United States for us. Although I am comfortable driving in Italy, I was glad not to have to drive the curving and confusing roads of Piedmont and could relax and enjoy the whole experience. Thank you, Riste!

Riste was very knowledgeable and a fantastic guide to the area. We loved the vineyards we visited, both family-run and very welcoming, the restaurant for lunch was beautiful and had good options for my dietary needs (vegan). The tour was a highlight of our trip, I would recommend.

Our party of five had a fantastic day with Nik. Being a sommelier, he was very knowledgeable about wine in general, and being from the area, he was able to tell us a lot about the region. The two wineries we visited, Giuseppe Cortese and Teresa Soria, were excellent choices to demonstrate the best characteristics of the Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo and Moscato grapes grown in the region. A visit to a small-batch cheese maker for lunch was a wonderful addition to the day. The scenery was breathtaking, as well. It was an all-around great experience.

A fantastic tour. Nik was very knowledgeable and friendly. The wineries were exactly the kind of family run wineries that we wanted to experience. The restaurant for lunch was also excellent, and had a great wine list.

This is our first time in Piemonte and we bring home beautiful memories from this visit. Alessandro took very good care of us and shared very valuable knowledge about the region and its outstanding wines. We visited two family owned wineries and having just finished harvest, we could see up close a little of what it takes to make just wonderful wines. We will certainly be back!

Absolutely loved the Langhe region wine tour coordinated by Oneonthehill. Everything from the booking, communication, pickup, drop off was professionally managed and fun. They picked two smaller family estates (Barolo, Barbera, Barbaresco) and we spent several hours at each. Beautiful scenery, friendly and informative owners, that were happy to share their knowledge and wine with us. Our sommelier, Nik, was an exceptional guide and made the entire day really fun. Highly, highly recommend this tour!
