What To Expect
Cusco
At 4:30 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you by van to the Ollantaytambo train station for 1 hour and 30 minutes, where you will board the train to Machu Picchu. (You need to be ready 20 minutes before the van departs).
Ollantaytambo
We will travel by train to Machu Picchu town or Aguas Calientes (the village has two names) between 06:40 am and 7:20 a.m. and enjoy the landscapes surrounding the entrance. (We need to be there 30 minutes before the train departs).

5.001-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is the perfect blend of adventure, history, and breathtaking scenery for travelers with limited time. The experience begins early, but the excitement quickly outweighs the lack of sleep as you start hiking from Km 104. The trail immediately immerses you in stunning landscapes—lush mountainsides, cloud forest, and ancient Inca archaeological sites that appear seemingly out of nowhere. One of the highlights is visiting Wiñay Wayna, an impressive ruin that many travelers overlook on longer routes. Exploring its terraces and stone structures feels like discovering a hidden gem. The climb can be challenging in parts, but the well-paced trek and rewarding views keep motivation high. Reaching the Sun Gate is an unforgettable moment. As Machu Picchu gradually comes into view from above, the sense of accomplishment is incredibly fulfilling. Walking the final stretch into the citadel feels surreal, especially knowing you arrived the same way the Incas once did. The guided tour at Machu Picchu adds depth and context, making the experience richer and more meaningful. 5.00We had a fantastic tour together with Mauro. We came to Aguas Calientes on our own and from there he accompanied our family during the visit to Machu Picchu. He takes extensive time to take pictures, but also gives a lot of information about the construction and the way of life. He was also very child friendly, so would definitely recommend going out with Mauro!
