Join us on an unforgettable evening adventure to witness one of Madeira’s most breathtaking Sunset from the heights of Pico do Arieiro.
We’ll start by picking you up from your accommodation in Funchal, Caniço or Câmara de Lobos (city center)
Then, we continue the journey to the majestic Pico do Arieiro, Madeira’s third-highest peak. Here, you’ll experience part of the famous PR1 trail,(Self-Guided) walking approximately 1.2 km each way (1h30m), leading you to the incredible Ninho da Manta Viewpoint and the renowned “Stairway to Heaven”.
As the day ends, prepare to be amazed by the colors of the sunset painting the sky and mountains in golden tones. After soaking in this magical moment for about 30 minutes, we’ll comfortably return you to the nearest point of your accommodation.

5.00I had a wonderful time on the PR1 sunset tour! Once I’d booked on Luis sent lots of information explaining the plan, including pickup details. He arrived right on time and shared with me lots of information about Madeira on our drive up. Once we were parked Luis made sure I had all the information I needed and knew exactly where I was going, and we arranged what time we would meet back at the car. The sunset itself was incredible! We got very lucky as we had been driving through a lot of clouds to get there, but it ended up being spectacular! The walk itself is straightforward and it offers some of the best views I’ve seen for relatively little effort (assuming you’re lucky with the weather!) - I’d absolutely recommend this tour and a trip to PR1 at sunset :) Note - it was considerably colder and windier up there than in Funchal so wrap up warm

5.00The views are simply unlike any other! I am a novice hiker and took my time to hike as the rocks were rather slippery that day as it had rained the previous day. The pick up was efficient and on time and Luis is a very friendly and informative tour guide. Highly recommend!

5.00Our driver was Luis and we had a great tour. We actually did not do the stairway to heaven hike due to the weather, it was super cloudy and windy, no view at all and it was up to us if we wanted to do the hike or not, so we decided not to do it at the last moment. Luis took us to other viewpoints instead which was super nice and we still saw the sunset. Very good communication before the tour. Maybe we will try to do the hike again on another day if the weather is better.
