What To Expect

Baia de Camara de Lobos

The first stop is a small fishing village, “Câmara de Lobos”, which is located west of Funchal where the port is a small creek. A beach and harbor can be seen, with the houses heaped up around the bay. In 1949 Winston Churchill chose this place to paint its picturesque surroundings.

After visiting Camara de Lobos, you will head for worlds second highest sea cliff and Europe’s highest (580m) – (1775 ft). Here you can enjoy the beautiful views of Camara de Lobos and Funchal.

We had a fantastic day on the West Tour. Our guide Rui was absolutely excellent — knowledgeable, funny, and very engaging throughout the entire trip. He explained the history and geology of Madeira in a way that was easy to understand and enjoyable for everyone. He also drove safely and confidently, which made a huge difference on the mountain roads. The tour was very well organized with varieties and the mini bus was comfortable and clean. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore Madeira’s West Coast without renting a car or driving on mountain roads. Our whole family had a wonderful time with zero stress and no planning needed — just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Our guide Rui, was excellent!.. so knowledgeable regarding ,history, flora& fauna, and especially road building on this island of tunnels& twisty turns!. He was kind enough to give us all on the tour, his advice on every question we asked, and was very kind and patient. A great value for money day out , across all the best of the West and North coast& mountains.

An excellent tour to see the West and ride over the top to see the ancient trees of Fanail. Then the tour takes you to Port Moniz - a great stop for a Madeiran lunch. Many stops and thank goodness a good driver and guide who gave a superb commentary with interesting facts about the area and people of Madeira - thank you Christian. Great value for a full day experience - I would definitely recommend this tour.

Super experience for a day. Full flavour of the island. Our guide Albino was a true gentleman. So passionate about his home island and my goodness he knows the flora and fauna inside out. Great tour of Costal stops and viewpoints. Perfectly paced with stops for refreshments and little walks or swims. Fab air conditioned car and microphone speaker so we heard every word. Highly recommended and many thanks to Albino.

Fantastic value at £28 each for a full day. There were only five of us on the tour and the car was a Mercedes people carrier. Suzanne, our guide, was a very professional driver. She was also very friendly and informative. We had a great day. Thank you.

We had a fabulous day out with Susana showing us some beautiful view points and areas around the north west of the island, whilst we've been to many of these places before, these were explored on our own, it's so much more satisfying hearing more about these areas, the vast array of information Susana gave us about these areas and the islands history was beyond impressive, there's so much to learn, do and see! We travelled through sun, fog & rain, just felt like being in Scotland on a summer's day hahaha! We've also learned soooo much about bananas! Our son James has great fun riding up front with Susana and he can't stop telling us "I'm so stylish" because Susana said this to him. She is a fantastic lady who is a credit to the company and we will definitely book another tour whenever we come back to Madeira, thank you Susana
