Covering thousands of acres of protected forest, this amazing biodiversity is home to a large number of birds, reptiles, mammals and insects.
Our experienced guides will take you on an unforgettable boat tour through the channels of the mangrove forest, far away from civilization. You can discover an abundance of species native to the area such as white-faced monkeys, anteaters, boas, iguanas, birds and thousands of colorful crabs.

One of our final excursions in Costa Rica and one of the best. Johnny, our guide, was excellent at pointing out wildlife, sharing the history of the area and engaging everyone to ensure that they got to see the sights during the trip. From helping us capture incredible pictures of birds, snakes, crocs and the foliage, to working with Jeffery, our boat captain, it was an incredible journey on the waters of the mangroves of Damas Island.

So many different birds, crocodiles, boa snakes, bats, spiders, fish, monkeys, the monkeys were amazing, this is the best tour for seeing and LEARNING about all of the animals. Too many other boats on the water passed us by. So thankful for choosing this tour.

I spent a lot of time reviewing all of the different mangrove boat tours. Very happy that we picked this one. This is the tour for you if you want to see the most animals possible, especially the hidden ones. Johnny was excellent and extremely knowledgeable about the crocodiles we saw, all of the different birds, over a dozen different species, the different boa snake species, lizards, giant jungle water spiders, families of sleeping bats. We saw a lot of other boats pass us by and did not stop to see any of the animals we were learning about, had I seen that from another boat, I would have been pissed to have missed out on so much. Ours was the only tour I saw with a dedicated knowledgeable tour guide and animal expert. We also had a dedicated photographer who shared all his photos via email at the end. I cannot recommend this tour enough!!!!

We saw a lit of cool animals and plants, sadly no crocodiles, but that’s out of hand, nature decides what you get to see! But it was really interesting seeing and hearing about the jesus lizard or different birds living in the mangrove!

Save your money. Our guide barely spoke English. He sat down almost the entirety of the tour. Most of the animals that were pointed out were by others on the tour. When the guide did decide to do anything, he primarily shot animals on the eyes with a green laser and made them run away. For $75 I’d do just about anything else. By far the worst experience of our trip!
