Manuel Antonio Park is considered to be one of the most diverse habitats in the world. The high number of species per square meter is countless. Monkeys, sloths, lizards, toucans, hummingbirds, lizards, and a lot more.
Our naturalist tour guides have a professional spotting scope for observing the wildlife and with the telescope, you can also take memorable photographs by taking your own pictures with our optical equipment.
Important:
- Bring swimsuits if planning to stay at the beach inside the park.
- Plastic commercial bottles are not allowed. You should bring your own personal water container for your own hydration.

What To Expect
Manuel Antonio National Park
Your day begins at the park entrance, or with optional pickup at selected locations. After you purchase Manuel Antonio National Park entrance tickets (at your own expense), you’ll continue into the nature reserve with a naturalist guide. Exploring this wildlife hotspot with a naturalist makes the most of every minute, as their trained eyes quickly spot animals such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, and more. And, this tour’s small-group format means more personalized attention from the guide. You can also use the group’s spotting scope to observe wildlife and take photos. A flexible itinerary, meanwhile, is tailored to guest preferences, whether you’re all about the jungle or interested in a beach walk. In between stops enjoy provided snacks, as well as the climate-controlled comfort of a tour vehicle for pickup and drop off. While this walking nature tour concludes at the park entrance, you’ll also have the option to stay inside the park. The tour guides have a Jade Tours uniform

5.00Our guide Elliot was very skilled and well informed about the flora and fauna in the park and was passionate about its preservation without being preachy. Very nice soft spoken man. He found many animals for us that we otherwise would have passed by. The drivers were courteous as well. The only knock against the experience was the amount of people in the park. It wasn’t the fault of the tour company and the park itself limits the amount of people allowed to enter. It’s just a very popular place during the high season. I would recommend going two days. Once with the tour and after you become familiar with the park come back and spend time on the beach or find some less traveled trails to escape all the crowds.

5.00Excellent tour guide Elliott. He is very knowledgeable of the nature in the park. So friendly and easy to talk to. I loved watching so many animals I wouldn’t be able to see otherwise. Sloths, pelicans, tucán, monkeys, deer, and many more. It is quite an experience!

2.00I'm sure it preserves the park, but much of it is on boardwalks so I did not feel like I was actually in a rainforest. This is very different from being in the Manzinillo refuge near Puerto Viejo with walking paths right next to the flora and fauna. We had a local guide there who talked to us about the culture and how he had found the animals he showed us; he did not use a scope. Our guide in Manuel Antonio Park couldn't have been nicer but he and the other guides were like a "club" excited about their scopes, with us as the outsiders. They bantered and shared the animals, but animals through a scope just don't feel "accessible". A lot of wasted time was spent looking for the large animals, peering through the scope and taking photos through it for everyone. The leaf cutter ants marching along in lines didn't even make the cut!
