Manuel Antonio National Park
Your day begins at the park entrance, or with optional pickup at selected locations. After you purchase Manuel Antonio National Park entrance tickets (at your own expense), you’ll continue into the nature reserve with a naturalist guide. Exploring this wildlife hotspot with a naturalist makes the most of every minute, as their trained eyes quickly spot animals such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, and more. And, this tour’s small-group format means more personalized attention from the guide. You can also use the group’s spotting scope to observe wildlife and take photos. A flexible itinerary, meanwhile, is tailored to guest preferences, whether you’re all about the jungle or interested in a beach walk. In between stops enjoy provided snacks, as well as the climate-controlled comfort of a tour vehicle for pickup and drop off. While this walking nature tour concludes at the park entrance, you’ll also have the option to stay inside the park. The tour guides have a Jade Tours uniform

We did the guided tour with Kenneth and it was superb. Kenneth was knowledgeable kind and a consummate professional with the sharpest eyes I’ve ever seen. The man spotted animals every few meters and ensured we all had a chance to see them. At the beginning of the tour Kenneth asked us what animals we were excited about and lo and behold we saw each and every one of them. If you are on the fence about doing this tour, go for it! It will transform your experience in Manuel Antonio

We had a great trip with our guide Derek. He was able to show us many animals, such as sloths, ant eater, a snake and many more.

Our tour was fantastic. Derek JP was our guide. He was kind, knowledgeable & consistently showed photos of similar animals and teaching us along the way. We spotted a lot of animals. 5 different sloths, “jesus” lizards, monkeys, 4 iguanas, one fluffy bird, tons of crabs, Agoutis, guardian Frogs, and more we are missing. Overall the tour was 3 hours long. We finished with a light snack, fruit, water, & a cold towel. Transportation was fast & on time! We also received photos after the tour.

So I didn't actually GET to experience the park, because when I got my guided tour ticket the night before, Viator never alerted me about a policy change with Costa Rica's national parks that took place 10 months ago (the locals seem to all be aware, but that doesn't help tourists at all). This policy change is that you now have to get a *separate ticket for the park entrance - and you cannot just get it at the park itself, because the number of tickets are limited per day, so they will be likely sold out by the time you arrive. What this did was essentially make me lose an entire day (3.5 hour drive from San Jose x2) of my vacation, and cost me $90 just to show up and find out that this two-ticket policy screwed me out of my tour. This all could have been avoided if Viator's website had made it very clear I ALSO had to get a separate ticket to enter the park itself, in addition to getting a ticket for their guided tour.

The tour was amazing. Javier was the best! He pointed out SO many animals, almost all of which we would have missed on our own. We were hoping to see a sloth, but we saw several: both 2. & 3 toed. The best part was Javier takes photos through his scope so we could enjoy viewing and watching. And he airdrops the photos to you after the tour. It was amazing- both the tour and the park!
