The mangrove forest is one of the most vital and astounding ecosystems in the world. Damas Island, located just 10 minutes from Manuel Antonio is currently one of the most important remaining mangroves in Costa Rica. we really liked that our guide would stop and show us some things here and there, but he was also quiet and let us relax. He also took us to a local dinner spot that was buffet style, but delicious.

Elliott and Kevin made the trip very fun! I liked that it was a slower pace so that we didn’t have to paddle too hard. We saw a capuchin monkey

Excellent tour. Edgar shares his vast knowledge of flora, fauna and history & culture with humour. We learned lots, and enjoyed kayaking through the mangroves. We had quite a show from the capuchin monkeys. They came very close, but Edgar made sure that we were safe and could still take photos. Our meal afterward was very good.

My sister and I enjoyed a magical kayak tour through the mangroves with guide Edgar. We were shown iguanas, lizards, a boa, and crabs. We had the good fortune to see a troop of capuchin monkeys, they seemed to be as eager to watch us as we were to see them. On the return to Quepos, Edgar stopped to show us iguanas and red macaws. Our tour was even better than I had imagined.

What a great afternoon kayaking in the mangroves! Edgar is a very capable guide. He is very well spoken and very engaging. He has a great amount of knowledge to share about flora, fauna, history and culture of the area. Kayaking in the mangroves was relaxing, peaceful and quiet. We were entertained by quite a number of playful capuchin monkeys, and also saw a heron, lots of crabs, basilisk lizards and larger lizards. We watched leaf cutter ants in a procession and Edgar pointed out macaws and arranged for us to stop to see them. The included meal was very tasty and filling. Thanks, Edgar, for such a personalized tour! Thanks, as well, to Rodrigues for being a competent and engaging driver. Our tour was definitely a highlight of my trip!
