Visit the Hermit Caves known by the locals as the caves of Badovas. The hermit caves of Badovas are very close to Kastraki village. Between the village and the town of Kalabaka Badovas is the name of the nearby restored but abandoned Monastery dedicated to Saint Nicolas of Badovas. The caves where Hermit monks use to live an extraordinary life back in 14th century are situated between Kalbaka town and Kastraki Village. The area is surrounded by immerse rock pillars called Pyxari and Amparia and few other smaller rocks.

Eva was very nice and tried hard to make it interesting but the tour was a lot of driving and less than half of the time was the tour. The actual monasteries were business centres collecting entry fees, selling a variety of goods and very little was about the life, values or experiences of the monks or really anything of substance at all

Long day but well worth the trip! Incredible structures and the natural beauty is breathtaking😳 Meal was good and the bus comfortable with a good break at a bathroom

We do not visit the caves and only two monasteries out of the three .. I had asked before the name of the three monasteries .. I had no answer despite the relaunch! Pleasant guide satisfying meal kind staff .. lots of photo stops .. nice activity but Really disappointed on the number and especially not seen the Great Meteor!

This tour involves a lot of time on the bus, but I think it was compensatory. The trip was quiet, comfortable bus with air conditioning, makes one stop on the go and another on the return. The local guide was excellent and the restaurant where lunch was served was also very good, offering various dish options to be chosen.
