NO BATHROOM!!! ENGINE STOPPED WORKING AND HAD BE TOWED!!! So…here’s what happened… I arrived at 7:15 as per instructions. Friendly DM’s and Boat Captain. Didn’t leave until almost 8, which was an unnecessary delay. Boat ride to Neptune Memorial Reef took an hour. Good boat and dive safety briefs. Dive conditions weren’t the best, but one takes what one can get on vacation! DM’s were great. Checking gear, ensuring everyone was safe during the dive, etc. Snacks and drinks were fine, Gatorades, Cokes, chips, and cookies. Second dive was supposed to be to a wreck, but upon arrival, one of the DM’s couldn’t find it, so we changed to Army tanks dive instead. Army tanks dive included a barge as well, and the water clarity improved, so this was the better of the two dives. From there, we went back towards Marina. About 10 minutes away from the Marina, the engine died. The Captain attempted to start it for about 45-60 minutes to no avail. Then the tow boat was called, which took an hour to arrive. Towed us back to Marina, and that was that. Not having a bathroom on a boat is a real bummer, unless you are actually in the ocean, in which case you can relieve yourself. But if you are not in the ocean, it’s no fun holding it. The engine dying happened, but my only complaint is that the Boat Captain should have called the tow boat sooner. Obviously, the extra 2 hours affected my other plans for the day. Thankfully I was able to reschedule one of the paid events. The crew acted safely and calmly, so the engine failure was more inconvenient than anything. Overall, I would say that I would pass on this dive experience based upon my adventure yesterday. No offense to the crew, but this was not my favorite dive.

They are a special team, in a short time they will make you feel part of this family. From the Shop Center to the boat, from a conversation on the phone asking for some kind of information to the most exciting moment of each dive. “The voice of being able to enter the water”. Every place, moment or circumstance is great with Squalo Divers.

Great experience with Squalodivers, very well organised and professional. On the boat you have lot of space for your equipment and they provide drink and snacks. Very suggested. Will be back soon;)

I did three 2-tank dives for my Drift and Deep Diver PADI courses. I learned a lot and explored different wrecks and reefs each day out of Miami Beach. Communications were clear and regular. Great followup before my trip and before the dives. I highly recommend, especially if, like me, you come from a cold water spot like Monterey! Sebastian ran the crew and was awesome, super helpful and gave me a number of useful tips. He runs a tight ship and his easy going manner made me feel like I was in good hands. My instructors, Devin and Ethan, were attentive and patient. Thanks guys!

Amazing experience, very well organized and with all the safety measures. Luchi was an incredible guide and instructor during our diving trip to the army tanks. Also the staff theam of Paulina and Sebastian were incredible supporting all the time and checking we had everything ready. Can't ask for more! Fully recommended when visiting miami.

  • Did the most important thing well. Otherwise, a bit lacking

My 20 year old son and I did the two tank reef dive. There was only one other diver and then the dive guide and boat captain. We got lots of personal attention and the guide really knew his stuff. However, all three of us got very seasick and were hurling and dry heaving. Some of it was the chop, but I suspect some was also the boat and driver. I’ve been diving for over a decade and never experienced anything like that! The dives were good, and the rental equipment was really nice. There was a decent amount of fish, but the reefs in south Florida are really not in good shape. The guide didn’t describe the dives ahead of time, run through hand signals, or talk about the fish we’d see. Just down to business. I give HUGE kudos to the dive guide!!!!!! After descending to 60 feet, my mask let in a lot of water (my fault- I jarred it loose when nose-pinching to clear sinus pressure). I was having a hard time clearing it (which is dumb of me, I’ve done this dozens of times before with no problem), and while blowing out my nose I sucked in a huge amount of water and felt like I couldn’t breathe (of course I could but it didn’t feel like it) and started to panic. The guide calmed me down, helped me breathe, and led me on a controlled ascent. A PERFECT JOB!!!!!!!! All in all, very impressed with professionalism and know-how. But also overall a good, not great experience. That said, a decent day diving is better than almost anything else!!!!!

  • My two daughters and I did a little practice in the pool in the morning and then was taken out same day to scuba dive

Everyone that works for Squalo divers was pleasant, but also efficient. I would suggest their services to anyone because they are safe and very well priced.
