This was such a fun excursion. The staff Nono and Cannon were great. Friendly and played great music. We got to see the entire coast, a whale, dolphins, and even swam with turtles! I saw other boats out there getting demolished by the waves but we were fine on this boat

We had so much fun on Captain J’s. The crew was great and super friendly. The entire ride was a ton of fun and the weather was perfect so we were able to go into the caves and had a chance to see the NāPali Coast really well! The staff was also super informative about the area. We would definitely recommend this tour!

Matt and Andrew were amazing guides! Super knowledgeable about the history of Kauai! They both made the experience so amazing! The smaller boat and smaller size group made the trip more personal and we got to see so much! Snorkeling at the end was the icing on the cake! If you want a fun high adventure trip choose Captain J's. It was worth every penny to get to see the island the way we did!!

Everything was excellent. The leader Landon was knowledgeable, funny and nice to be around, as was his mate Mason. The only bummer was I forgot to take dramamine and got a bit weasy. Excellent trip-highly recomended

We were reluctant to spend the money for this especially because I really wanted to see the Na 'Pali Coast from the North Shore as I've read it's a better tour with less of a boat ride. We were also last-minute so our options were limited. We had decided not to bother until the next morning when I saw this company appear on kauai.com while looking for something else, and went for it that same day! Having said all that, we LOVED this tour!!! The boat was fast and not very bumpy (at the back of the boat), the staff was great, and the views were beyond exquisite!!! Beautiful beyond words! We did snorkeling at the beginning to make sure we could while the ocean cooperated. We went under a waterfall and into a cave. We hung around a bit outside the marina at the end for almost sunset photos. And there's a toilet on the boat, which some do not have. There's even a brewery across the street from their shop - a perfect end to a great day.

Great experience definitely worth doing! Anti Nausea meds are recommended along with a water proof pouch, sunscreen, easy to remove and put on shoes. Nono and Cannon were AMAZING, loved their music, info and all their personalities!! Give them a shout if you are looking for great entertainment.

Let me caveat this by saying that the check in process was easy, the captain and first mate were great and everyone was friendly. What I did not like about this tour was that I was completely unprepared for how rough the seas would be. We had 8 foot swells which the captain said was a good day so I can’t imagine a bad one. While they tell you upfront not to join if you’re pregnant or have back problems, I had no idea how rough this would get. I’ve been on many boats and have gone deep sea fishing in rough waters but I have never experienced anything like this, I got seasick for the first time in my life. It was pretty miserable and I wasn’t alone. Four out of twenty of us got sick which seems a high statistic and while they have a bucket system there was no ginger drops or rubbing alcohol just “oh another one needs a bucket”. If it’s that common they should warn people or consider whether to go out at all. I never even get motion sickness so this was very unusual for me. The coast is beautiful, but I would highly recommend taking a helicopter there. Many people on our boat were on the tour because the helicopters had been canceled the last couple of days. The other thing was that the snorkeling was nothing special. The water was super choppy and therefore not much visibility, there were three other boats stationed nearby which we were told to avoid as well as the reef, the rocks, and the back of the boat so it was a very small space for 20 people to snorkel around. There wasn’t much to see and it wasn’t very vibrant compared to snorkeling I’ve done elsewhere in Hawaii. I expected since we were going to a place that could only be accessible by boat or helicopter that the snorkeling would be great but it wasn’t. Granted still feeling sick probably did not help my frame of mind by that point. Overall, I did not think it was worth it.

Best boat trip along the coast! Great commentary and they take you right up to it. If you get motion sickness, SIT IN THE BACK! Still has a great view from back there. Cannon and Ryan were great and made the tour very exciting and fun.

The crew were amazing! Ryan kept our boat on course despite some big waves and rain. Jeff spent half the trip dumping out vomit buckets as almost everyone got sick at some point. But if you're not prone to seasickness, the views were great, they use a calm spot for snorkeling if the weather up north is bad, and snacks and basic drinks were available in plenty to munch while you ride. Definitely recommend the trip, but it's probably better in the summer.
