What To Expect

Learn about the traditional cuisine of Naxos, Greek food, or satisfy you passion for cooking with a traditional cooking course at a rural village. All dishes are made from local and fresh ingredients and with pure organic products. Learn all the secrets of herbs and aromatic plants. At the end, the cooking lesson turns into a feast as you enjoy the dishes you have prepared, along with local wine and traditional music. The lessons will take place in small or large groups, in couples and families, upon agreement, at the times and days you choose. If you choose to, walk along the river and get to know some of the beauties of the village. Make the most of more than a simple cooking lesson, but a rich experience, as you cut vegetables and fruits from the garden or even make cheese together with the villagers!

What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon at Naxos! You are in for a treat! You will be welcomed to a warm family farm with so much to offer! You will learn about history, traditions, culture; you will dance and sing, you will collect vegetables and cook - a fantastic meal! Please do yourself a favor and book the tour! We didn’t want to leave!

This cooking class was one of our favorite activities during our two-week tour of the Greek islands! It encompassed the farm tour, picking fresh vegetables, and learning about their farm, grapes, olives, and water source - the cistern. We also drank wine while we were shown certain chopping mechanisms and methods to make our meal. We did this together, with several others. It was a lovely evening of the best food, wine, olive oil, company, and knowledge learned about this farm and the local village. At the end, we learned a couple of dances, smashed plates, and enjoyed dessert. It was such a fun, delightful event, and we just really enjoyed all of the history and delicious food. I would note one thing: there are A LOT of bees and wasps that congregate around the food while preparing and eating. The leaders try to put smoke out to deter them, but they do land on your food and are quite annoying. If you have an allergy to bees or wasps, this event is NOT for you.

Wonderful experience! We loved being able to learn about the island and culture while preparing a delicious meal. It was also lovely to meat the other individuals in the cooking class. The best surprise was the dance party at the end of the night. Couldn’t recommend more!
