Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya day tour begins after the guests have finished their breakfast. The destination is the fabulous tea country named Nuwara Eliya, a mesmerizing city in the hill country of the Central province. The name Nuwara Eliya has two meanings: the City of Lights and the City on the Plains. Nuwara Eliya is about 76 km from Kandy, and along the road there are many places to visit. • The Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden is the first destination you visit during Kandy to Nuwara Eliya Day Tour. The Damro tea center is one of the tea estates we come across on the journey to Nuwara Eliya. Formerly known as the Mackwoods, it is the oldest tea center in Sri Lanka. It is an enormous 5000 hectares of lavish tea plantations. You will get to learn about both black and white tea processes, as each tea has a different method of making. The factory tour is free of charge and ends with a delicious tea tasting.

The excursion turned out just as we had hoped. Although we knew it would be a long day, we requested a driver to take us to Sigiriya, Dambulla, and Polonnaruwa. He showed up right on time at our hotel and took us in a private car to the various locations. Although we did not want guide services, the driver showed us where to get tickets, etc. and always checked in to see if we had any needs (food, drinks, site guides, etc.). He was friendly and a skilled driver. And the cost was very reasonable. Would absolutely recommend to a friend!

Arranged at the last.minute, very efficient and easy to do and fair price. Driver was early so we could get a slightly head start, Fazeel was very knowledgeable about Sri Lanka and very friendly. It made the day very interesting. Did a trip to the spice harden, then into Polonnawura where we did some sightseeing and cycling. Great spot for lunch over Looking the rice fields, then a stop off in Dambulla. It.was a long day (7am to 8pm) but really enjoyable Thank you Fazeel and Dinesh !!
