The morning was perfect. We were picked up from our condo for a short ride to the beach. Everything was explained in detail. We then paddled over to a rock reef to snorkel. We saw lots of fish, sea urchins, and a morey eel! We then paddled over to the island and had a yummy snack. After exploring and relaxing, we paddled back to the beach!

Such a fun trip! While the water was a little murky our guide helped us find the clear water spots to have the best experience possible.

We enjoyed the trip with Louis. Good material, good explanation. Lucky with very nice weather. The guide snorkeled with us and pointed out some puffer fish. Delicious pineapple and fruit drink after snorkeling. There were other groups, but it wasn't too crowded. The step was at a stretch of beach with calm surf. Our youngest of 8 years could join the 2 person kayak.

We could not do the activity as planned because the sea was too rough for snorkeling. Our guides, Luis Miguel and Juan de Tico Adventure, offered us kayaking in the mangrove instead. We very much appreciated its flexibility. It was a very rewarding experience on the flora and fauna of this type of environment. We were able to rest in playa Camaronal with fresh pineapple, water and cookies.

The kayak paddle over was pleasant but non eventful. Kind of like paddling across a small lake. The beach was wide and pretty but again nothing outstanding. We walked around and did manage to spot an iguana but since visitors are rightly encouraged not to feed them they don’t necessarily come out. The water was a bit choppy near the island which churned up the sandy bottom making snorkeling cloudy. The excursion was a bit pricey for what you got. Frankly I wish we had spent our money and time doing something else.

We really enjoyed the kayaking portion, and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. For the snorkeling near Choro Island, the water is too turbulent and shallow, so you won't actually see anything but sand. But it was fun exercise. Perhaps a better location would result in seeing wildlife in the water

Myself and my boyfriend had the pleasure of doing this tour with Lewis from Tico Experience Tours booked through Tours with Maria. We were lucky enough that no one else had booked on our tour and we set out on two, two person kayaks with Lewis and his father. The first area we went to we saw lots of incredible fish including a jewel moray and puffer fish. Lewis got in the water with us and pointed out different species. We then kayaked out to the island where Lewis gave us some home made cookies and fresh juice made by his girlfriend. Both were delicious!! Then after a snack Lewis headed back out in search of turtles while we smoked near by. Lewis was able to spot some from above and we were able to swim right by them!! Our only issue was that when we’re received our tickets via email there was no information on what time the pick up for the tour was. The evening before I was able to find a WhatsApp number on the tours by Maria website and finally get in contact with someone. I would 100% recommend this tour and hope that you are also luck enough to have Lewis as your guide!!

Our guide took us to the best snorkeling area and we saw so many species! Then we kayaked to another spot where all the other guides were taking their customers and not that great an area for snorkeling. We had fresh pineapple, drinks, watermelon. Felt very safe with our knowledgeable guide Javier!

Excellent guide who had a good contact with our two kids (5 and 8). The guide took picture for free during the excursion and send them.
