A number of spaces are available for wheelchairs in each theatre at the Sydney Opera House. Wheelchairs are available from the Stage Door for use by patrons free of charge. Wheelchair access is by ramp from the southern entrance of the Concourse. Undercover wheelchair access is available from Stage Door and the Sydney Opera House Car Park. It is essential that you specify any needs when proceeding with your booking.
Dogs or any animals trained to assist people with disabilities are welcome inside all theatres and restaurants.
Please ask staff for assistance with receivers which are available from the Concert Hall and Opera Theatre cloak rooms and in the Drama Theatre, Playhouse and The Studio foyers.

Sydney Opera House
Verdi’s La Traviata music sings of freedom with flying melodies, makes merry with rousing drinking songs and leaves us with passionate duets between breaking hearts. La Traviata Synopsis: Beautiful and carefree, the courtesan Violetta is the life of every party. But behind that dazzling smile, she knows that she is dying. Unaware of her troubles, the shy Alfredo is in love. Violetta is torn: is the promise of true love worth giving up her life of freedom? She takes a chance on a life with Alfredo living in the country, and it seems she could be happy. But Alfredo's father has other ideas. He demands the impossible: Violetta leave Alfredo, for the sake of his family’s reputation. Devastated, Violetta agrees and writes Alfredo a letter of farewell, concealing her love. Alfredo is heartbroken and furious, and coming face to face with her at a ball, he delivers the ultimate insult. Will Alfredo learn of Violetta’s undying love before she succumbs to her illness?

4.00This is not a tour. It is purely an opportunity to purchase tickets for the opera. We had fabulous seats and spent less using Viatour than we had purchased the tickets through the box office directly. The process was seamless as we picked up the tickets at the box office before the performance using our booking number and a photo id. Although the performance was good, not great, it was well worth going to see an opera in the stunning Sydney opera house and view it up close!
