Ecola State Park
After the morning drive along the Sunset Highway, Oregon's first automobile route through the Cascade Mountain Range, we'll meander through a lush Sitka spruce forest to Ecola State Park. We’ll momentarily leave the vehicle behind and explore this coastal oasis. If time allows, we may also travel back through the forest to Indian beach. This secluded pocket hides away from much of the summertime crowd and is a favorite spot for local beach combers.

1-1/2 hours to get to the coast from Portland but well worth the ride. Many scenic vistas and the town of Seaside is full of restaurants with great variety. Interesting seaside town. Our guide Patrick was full of interesting information and made the very best of a day with on and off rain. Umbrellas and ponchos were supplied and Patrick was good at encouraging us to enjoy the sites despite the rain.He really made lemonade out of lemons. We had a great time.

That weather was unpredictable. Make sure you wear your rain boots. Bring raincoats too. Joe was very informative about the area we were visiting. He knew his material. Had good suggestions on eating places in Portland. He was pleasant and friendly. Made sure we were comfortable in the van.

The trip was nice. Daniel was a really knowledgable tour guide. I appreciated how we stopped at state parks and lookouts instead of tourist shops. It was also nice to have an hour in the town of cannon beach to get lunch and explore.

David was an excellent guide, friendly and knowledgeable. The spectacular weather enhanced the views of the ocean and mountains. The hike through the forest to the ocean was a once in a lifetime experience.
