Yayo was a great host. The cooking class was funny, well prepared, and we learned so much about Japanese cuisine. Highly highly suggest doing this experience. It's a great time, great food, and something you won't forget.

A fun thing to do, we were the only two people for the class, whether that is good or not, we had fun. Yayo (our host) was great with her communication before our booking - where to meet was very central, again with photo's of what to look for. We had no trouble finding Yayo and it was a very short walk to her apartment. A plus it was nice to do at someone's home instead of a commercial kitchen. Yayo explainations of the food was great but we did ask her to repeat herself to make sure we knew exactly what we doing. We had some laughs about the eggs in Japan and cooking with chopsticks was a bit different and we managed it!!! Overall is was a great couple of hours which went very quickly and to try some traditional food that we cooked was special. We came home with leftovers and a few surprises - no spoiler alert this end.

This will be one of my most memorable events of my trip to Osaka. Our host expertly guided us through cooking some of Japan’s more memorable dishes. Along the way providing detailed knowledge and insight. This small group event was meaningful and tasty.

What a fun and memorable experience to have! In an otherwise busy shopping city, Yayo welcomed us into her home for a moment of peace while we made miso soup, dashimaki tamago, okonomiyaki, and taiyaki. She was very helpful in explaining the significance of each dish and ingredient while giving advice on how to cook these at home. To top it off, she provided snacks, drinks and gifts to take home. Do not miss this. *NOTE* make sure to leave room to eat all the delicious food!

My partner and I did Yayo’s cooking class on our first night in Japan and it was the perfect warm welcome. The host is so kind and warm. She tells you about the ingredients she’s using and how they’re relevant to the dishes and different is varying parts of Japan. We met another couple during the class and had a wonderful time. I can’t explain how lovely the entire experience was.

Yayo was extremely kind and informative explaining the ingredients and how to cook the various dishes on the menu. Everything was prepped for efficiency, but there was still enough for us to cook to experience making each authentic dish or drink. The class is in Yayo’s home which made us appreciate the experience more with her graciousness. We learned a lot and the amount of food made will not disappoint. (We left with leftovers because there was so much and we couldn’t finish it all!). Yayo’s sense of humor and patience are a perfect blend to help you feel at ease and just enjoy the experience fully. You’ll learn a lot, leave full of food and with great recipes!
