Went with my husband to see how suitable it might be for our grand children. Considering the great reviews we were underwhelmed. Some of the illusions are good but overall we thought it needed a lot more guidance about what you were seeing. The rooms are very small and stairs very steep so it would be awful if it was crowded. There were only a few people there when we visited. Overall we felt our grand children would not be impressed. Needs a bit more work!

We recently visited the Oxford Illusion Museum and overall had a really good experience. It was fairly quiet when we went, which actually made it perfect for me and my little boy — we could explore everything at our own pace without feeling rushed or crowded. The illusions were fun and interactive, and there were some great photo opportunities that kept my son entertained the whole time. It’s definitely a nice place for a family visit and something a bit different to do in Oxford. That said, a few of the rooms feel a little overused and could probably do with some refurbishment to freshen them up. With a bit of updating, the experience would be even better. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made a positive difference to our visit. Overall, a good experience and worth a visit — especially if it’s not too busy!

Small quirky museum full of fun. Our age group ranged from 6-11 years old. Even us adults enjoyed all the different illusions.

I would have given the museum 5 stars but for the long queue and wait time to get in, particularly as I had booked 3 days in advance, only to find out when we got to the entry that many people in front of us had not booked.

Very short but fun. We went when it was very busy so lots of queuing and parents with kids pretty selfish space . Lovely team guy at the upside down house ensured we had a great image

I took my children here during half term week. Went on the Park & Ride from Thornhill and the bus stop to get off was pretty much outside the Museum. It's not a huge place but there are several floors of really interesting and interactive things to see and do. We really enjoyed it as it was somewhere new for us to discover. Found it really interesting and fun. A great day in Oxford 👍

The Oxford Illusion Museum is a fun and slightly quirky attraction, and it’s nice to have something different like this in Oxford. Some rooms are genuinely well done and engaging, and we found ourselves revisiting the ones we enjoyed most. Others felt more limited - for example, displays like the dragon illusion are interesting but only hold attention for a few minutes. You won’t need more than about an hour here. We visited with a 10-year-old, which felt like a good age, but I wouldn’t recommend it for children under 5, as they’re unlikely to understand the concept of illusions. There are also many stairs, narrow spaces, and a slightly disorientating layout, which makes it less suitable for very young children. It’s worth noting that tickets can’t be booked in advance, there’s no lift, and popular rooms can get busy with queues for photos. While I expected something on a slightly larger or more interactive scale - having seen illusion museums elsewhere - the tickets are fairly priced, and for what it is, it’s an enjoyable short visit rather than a long experience.

Honestly wasnt expecting much, but really pleasantly surprised. It was really great fun, the staff are wonderful, and everyone we saw also participating was laughing and enjoying themselves.

Fantastic place for the family and friends . You can get a lot of great views and fun activities in this beautiful area . It’s taken about one hour to complete all the steps and areas. I advise you to visit this place and take a tour to see how the world can trick you by changing the shapes for fun
