The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us great context about the history of Oxford, the colleges, and about some of the city's main spots. It was a fast-paced tour and it was a lovely evening to be out and about. But in our opinion the ghost stories seemed more like a quick add-on to the tour and we were left feeling that we had joined the Walking Tour of Oxford, not the atmospheric, haunting ghost tour we hoped for. Many years ago I joined this same tour and the stories shared by the tour guide would transport you to the times when the city was dark, scary, and gave you a very good insight of the many sightings of spirits around the town and colleges, narrated in a captivating tone, pausing for effect as you do when you tell a good ghost story. This time I joined with my son, and it was a comprehensive lesson in history, and we learnt about the guide’s own experience of the university, but not a lot of the haunted, most frightening side of Oxford, and many of the enjoyable stories I had heard before, were omitted from this tour.

What a fantastic evening, not only do you get to see gems hiding in plain sight but you certainly get your steps up! Steve, our guide, was amazing, such a wealth of knowledge! The tour is not just about ghosts but also the history behind the stories too, and much more. Would definitely recommend.

I was concerned we'd made a mistake when we arrived at the meeting point. The guide was there but he seemed to lack people skills but on the walk he was very informative about the sights that we visited. As a tour about Oxford it was very good but the ghost part was a bit disappointing, it went along the lines of "there's a ghost here", no real story. I didn't catch the guide's name but he certainly knew his stuff about Oxford I'd recommend it but just to learn about the sights.

Dear Ben, Thank you for the wonderful tour you gave us yesterday. I learned a lot about the history and culture of the city. You were very knowledgeable and engaging. However, I have some suggestions on how you could improve your tour for future guests. First, I think it would be nice if you could show more photos of the places and people you mentioned, such as the clothing they wore in the 1700s, the grave in the church, or the bishops. It would help us visualize the stories better and connect with them more. Second, I think you could make your tour more interesting by telling the stories in a more narrative way, rather than just stating facts. You could use more details, emotions, and suspense to make us feel like we are part of the history. Other than that, I really enjoyed your tour, especially the dark and narrow streets and alleys. They gave me a sense of the atmosphere and mystery of the city. Thank you again for your time and effort. I hope you find my feedback helpful and constructive.

My recent tour left me bewildered and deeply disappointed, all due to the tour guide's inexplicable rudeness. Right from the start, it was evident that our guide had a tendency to make snide comments and displayed an unusual obsession with her preferred procedures. Upon my arrival a few minutes after 7pm (7:08 PM), I joined the group gathered behind a small construction fence barrier, clearly indicating my interest in the ghost tour. The guide promptly informed me that this was indeed the tour and instructed me to come around the makeshift construction barrier because we would be walking to the right. I agreed and began walking the shortest distance around the construction barrier. The trouble began when she insisted I turn around the opposite direction I was going and take the longer route around, despite it being just a few meters. I told her I’m walking the shortest route and came spring the way I started and she became visibly exasperated with me. I couldn't fathom why this mattered so much to her, but her reaction made it seem like I had committed a grave offense for not adhering to her specific instructions, creating an unnecessary scene in front of the group. To compound matters, the guide seemed to expect me to be practically attached to her side once I approached the group, all for the sake of asking my name. I was taken aback when, instead of simply asking my name from where I stood in the group (just a foot away from her), she chastised me for not getting closer. It felt like she was making a mountain out of a molehill. Her condescending tone and attitude left me questioning whether she was having a bad day or if this was simply her regular demeanor. I left early feeling uncomfortable. Looking back, the tour had the potential to be an enjoyable experience if not for the guide's rude behavior towards me and her irrational expectations. If you're considering this tour, I would advise you to be prepared for a guide who may not be the most pleasant company. I hope the company addresses these issues to ensure a more respectful and enjoyable experience for future customers.

We were a nice-sized group, and our guide, Rob was extremely knowledgeable about Oxford history. His stories were interesting, however fairly tame given similar tours in other cities. A very enjoyable tour.

Even though it was a light summer evening this was a really good ghost tour. Our guide Rob was great and was very knowledgeable on the history of Oxford and his tales were interesting and at times chilling. Great to get off the beaten track and away from the crowds to explore parts of the city you wouldn't normally find.

We were a small group so we were able to learn all the ghosty information from the ghost tour, but also got quite a bit of background on the university plus have all of our questions answered. I can't remember my tour guide's name, but she was a wealth of information.
