Dryandra Woodland
The Dryandra Woodlands is a biodiversity hotspot containing more than 850 species of plants, more than 100 species of birds and 24 mammals, including the endangered numbat and bilby. The woodlands provide refuge for some of our unique Australian animals including echidnas, brush tailed wallabies, woylies, quendas and chuditch. Upon arrival at the woodlands, you will have time for a short bush walk, looking for native animals and stunning wildflowers in season before sitting down for a picnic dinner in the forest. Your guide will cook some food on the barbeque, there will be fresh salads, cheese and biscuits, wine and hot drinks available. After dinner, enjoy a scenic drive through the forest as the sunlight filters through the branches of the trees, casting long shadows and a flickering light creating a magical effect on the forest floor. Keep an eye out for the many kangaroos in the area as they dodge and weave their way through the trees.
Barna Mia Nocturnal Wildlife Experience
Barna Mia is a unique wildlife sanctuary for some of our endangered mammals. The guides will provide a short talk and video explaining the conservation work done at Barna Mia. Then you head in to the sanctuary for a guided night walk where we sit and wait for the night creatures of Barna Mia to appear. Before long, you will be entertained by the animals of Barna Mia as they emerge from the darkness in their search for food.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Gavin. We were celebrating her birthday and even got a private tour, thanks to others dropping out, due to illness. We saw kangaroos up close, a range of marsupials and had some photos taken under the stars by Gavin. He cooked for us and shared lots of interesting facts and stories of the areas we passed and visited. Will be recommending to friends who visit Perth, for sure!

Exceptional tour into the dryandra national park exploring some of the nocturnal animals and beautiful landscape. We were fortunate to see a sand monitor lizard, lots of kangaroos, Bilbies and wollies. Our local guide gavin was so knowledgeable about the wildlife of this wonderful part of the world. The dinner was lovely and our group very friendly. If you want an authentic Aussie tour this is one for you!

A unique wildlife experience in the Dryendra woodlands. The only place in Australia that you will see Bilbies up this close. Fantastic to see Woylies, Boodies, Mala and Quenda in a protected enclosure. Quokka Tours are the only tour operator taking tourists to this remote location. Many thanks to Skip for looking after us.

From booking to pick up was a breeze, quick communication and instructions, travel was very comfortable and safe, sites along the way to Dryandra were the best you could ask for. Skip - our guide was very knowledgeable and could share his stories of what creature’s he had seen at different places, along the way. The BBQ food and drinks were outstanding with plenty to eat. The Barna Mia night tour in the Dryandra woodland national park is something most would not experience in their lifetime, bilbys, woylie, mala, quenda and boodie, just wandering around, easy to take photos or videos of them. The night sky full of stars and satellites, visible and bright. I can’t recommend this trip enough, you will learn so much about the night creatures that without your visit and support could become extinct. Just do it!!

We really loved this experience and Skip our guide really contributed to this with his good sense of humour and knowledge of the local wildlife. The staff at the national park were very informative and we managed to see woylies, bilbeys, malas, quendas and wallabies, as well as kangaroos and many birds whilst we were waiting for the lovely BBQ to be prepared. The trip was very good value for money. We were well looked after from pick up to drop off. Don't be put off by the tour length - there is a lot of driving but you will get to see a different side to WA than you do from any other tour offered. We only had one day in the Perth area and we would both say getting out to Dryandra was not only a regional highlight, but one of the best experiences of our time in Australia.

My family of four (2 teens) just enjoyed the incredible Australian night animal safari! Gavin was a super knowledgeable and patient guide. We learned so much about Western Australian wildlife in beautiful settings! Loved the nocturnal tour at Barna Mia sanctuary. We saw SO many animals in this one afternoon/evening that we never knew existed - threatened/endangered species like the bilby, woylie, mala, quenda, echidna, and boodie. We also saw kangaroos, parrots, and cockatoos. Also worth mentioning...the picnic dinner was delicious...bbq chicken, really tasty citrus pistachio cranberry salad, hummus/veggies, and even wine! And I can't forget...my kids were thrilled they got to roast marshmallows! This tour was definitely a top highlight of our vacation.. HIGHLY recommend!

Fabulous experience from start to end and Gavin was a fabulous guide - ensuring we had a great time. Was awesome to visit the Dryandra Woodlands and the picnic dinner was so yummy too. Highlight of the trip was the Barna Mia Sanctuary where we got to see some of the endangered marsupials up close under a starry night.
