Ponte da Arrabida
A masterpiece of engineering and one of the most iconic symbols of Porto, the Ponte da Arrábida is a bow bridge that majestically rises over the River Douro, connecting Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia. Inaugurated in 1963, it was considered at the time the largest armed concrete bow in the world, a testimony to the boldness and innovation of Portuguese engineering.

5.00We were amazed with Nadia& Husband’s passion for their city, the river and their boat. We felt right at home and enjoyed many conversations about several topics as well as the history about GAIA . Immediately we were asked to select wine or cocktails from a menu. Nadia placed out a table with cheese, nuts, jam, chips, bread & crackers. Super cozy and pleasant.

5.00Nadia and Paolo were fabulous! The weather could have been a little bit better, it was overcast and we didn’t get to see a sunset but the trip was still a 10/10. The cushions up top were very comfortable, Nadia had blankets for us when it got a little chilly and she was a great tour guide. Thanks for a very memorable night on the river!

5.00What an incredible sunset boat ride we had with Nadia and Paolo. Our hosts were very warm and friendly. They served up a wonderful selection of snacks, cheeses and meats along with a complimentary drink. Cruising the river they pointed out and discussed many current and historical statues and places. The boat was very comfortable and one had a protected area if needed from any poor weather. Seating was excellent . Having a private cruiser for us made a very memorable tour and we highly recommend this family owned and operated company .

5.00Nadia & Paulo were wonderful hosts for our 2 hr cruise along the Douro River. Lovely small comfortable boat. They talked about the community and buildings as we cruised along the river & under the bridges. We had a very enjoyable time and highly recommend cruising with Alma Douro!

5.00I thought I had sent this review at the time – apologies for the delay. It was a little difficult to locate the boat but when we finally arrived we were given a very warm welcome by Nadia & Paolo. They are such a nice couple. The route of the trip shows off this glorious city perfectly – the bridges, the houses ..... the hills!! While receiving a very informative commentary, we enjoyed a delicious ‘picnic’ with a tasty variety of local food and delicious wines. Fortunately the weather was perfect so our experience of watching the sunset was truly magical. One of the most memorable moments I can remember. A truly special couple of hours which I will look to repeat on any future visit to Porto. Thank you so much, Nadia & Paolo.

5.00We could rate this experience as 6, we will do. We had the amazing boat trip, organisation and hospitality of the trip was more than we could expect. Snacks and drinks from local producers accompanied the trip perfectly. The captain and his wife gave us additional tips and historical insights about Porto, we were happy to be their guests. This trip will be in our hearts for many many years.
