See some of the 'Game of Thrones' filming locations in Girona's old town and get enchanted by the beauty of medieval village Pals and of fishing village Calella de Palafrugell.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Barcelona and travel in an air-conditioned vehicle to Girona where your walking tour of the city begins. See the Monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, the cathedral of Santa Maria and the Jewish quarter.
Next, we head to the medieval village of Pals where you should try a rice casserole for lunch before we stroll through its historic romanesque centre.
The last stop of the day is at a beautiful fishing village Calella de Palafrugell on the shore of Costa Brava, where you can swim in the clear waters, soak up the sun, or take a walk along the shore.

What To Expect
Esglesia de Sant Feliu
Drive from Barcelona to Girona (70 minutes). See the column of the lion and the outside of Sant Feliu church where the legend of 'Sant Narcis and the flies' emerges and get details about Girona's local heroes Sant Narcis and Sant Feliu (20 minutes).
Passeig de la Muralla
From the church of Saint Feliu we start a walk to the monasteries of Sant Pere Galligants and the square of the judges, where we see some of the filming locations of Game of Thrones. From here we cross walk along the city walls heading towards the cathedral.

5.00Guide spoke English and did a good job showing us around. We were picked up from the hotel at 8:30am and got back at 6pm. Good information. We saw the places where Game Of Throne scenes were filmed. Over all good experience and value. I would highly recommend it.

5.00My husband and I really enjoyed our full-day tour to Girona, Pals, and Palsfugell with André. Communication with André before the tour was excellent, pick-up at our hotel was prompt, and his SUV was very comfortable. On the drive to Girona, André gave us lots of information about the history of Barcelona and of Catalonia. When we arrived at Girona, we first stopped at a café for cappuccinos, and then started the walking tour of the historical part of the city. André showed us the important sites, and explained the historical importance. He also had video clips from the Game of Thrones, showing the exact spots where scenes from the series were filmed. After Girona, we drove to Pals, where we first had lunch. We enjoyed the lunch special of salad, a seafood rice casserole (like paella), a dessert, and a drink. After lunch, André gave us a walking tour of the charming medieval town. Afterwards, we drove to the seaside town of Palafugell where my husband and I enjoyed free time exploring the beach area. André is exceptionally knowledgeable about the history of Barcelona, of the Catalonia region, of the places we visited, and of the world in general. He also talked to us about contemporary life in Barcelona today and in the towns we visited. It was wonderful to spend the day with such a knowledgeable local resident!

2.00Our guide told us we were only going to Girona and not to Costa Brava even though that’s the tour we booked. Instead of telling us about the area as we drive from Barcelona he spent the whole ride discussing current politics. We tried to redirect the conversation several times unsuccessfully. He dropped us off at a cafe while he parked the car. When he got to the cafe he told us he couldn’t continue the tour because he had car trouble. He walked us around the city for an hour and then left us to find our own way back. Very disappointing and not as advertised.
